Sleep-disordered Breathing and Perioperative Atrial Fibrillation in Cardiac Surgery
Elective Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) SurgeryCoronary Artery Disease2 moreIn patients undergoing elective coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery, coronary artery disease, sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), atrial fibrillation (AF) perioperative atrial fibrillation and complications will be assessed. The primary objective is to determine, whether SDB patients have a higher rate of Major Adverse Cardiac and Cerebrovascular Events (MACCE) within 30 days after surgery compared to those without SDB.
Validation of a Single Rest-Stress Imaging Protocol for Myocardial Perfusion Imaging
Coronary Artery DiseaseMyocardial IschemiaWe propose a single-scan two-injection myocardial perfusion imaging protocol using ammonia. Subjects will undergo single-scan two-injection imaging as well as regular stress single-scan single-injection protocol and the myocardial blood flow of both techniques will be compared.
Family History App in Personalized Medicine
CancerBreast10 moreA complete family history (FH) may identify persons at high risk for certain conditions. They can be offered genetic testing and life-saving screening and treatment. In practice, complete FH is rarely collected or entered into the electronic medical record (EMR). The Family History Screening Questionnaire is a survey patients complete to tell whether they are at increased risk of specific cancers, heart disease or diabetes. We will test a new way to record FH that includes an app to improve use of FH by family physicians and patients. The strategy includes education for patients and physicians about the importance of FH; patient completion of the FH questionnaire prior to appointments; and prompts in the EMR. We expect this to help family physicians and patients interpret FH and make the best decisions. We will assess the proportion of patients with new EMR FH information. We will explore if the strategy increases appropriate referrals for screening and genetic consultation for those at increased FH risk. We will also obtain patients' and physicians' feedback on this strategy. This new approach may improve FH information exchange between patients and physicians, encourage shared decision-making and reduce cancer deaths and chronic disease burden.

Coronary Artery DiseaseThe ECAD registry is a registry of patients undergoing coronary angiography at the West German Heart and Vascular Center. The registry anticipates to determine predictors of patient outcome after coronary angiography.
Evaluation of a Free-breathing Cardiac Cine-MRI Sequence With Image Reconstructions by Deep-Learning...
Magnetic Resonance ImagingCardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging2 moreToday, MRI is the gold standard for the precise assessment of left ventricular volume and function, but presents the drawback of having a long acquisition time and of generating motion artifacts, in particular respiratory artifacts, requiring repeated sequences in apnea to cover the whole cardiac volume. These apneas are difficult to achieve in patients with ischemic heart disease and may lead to degradation of the images, an increase in the duration of the examination by repeated acquisitions and therefore to diagnostic inaccuracies. Artificial intelligence, already used in practice in cardiac MRI for automatic segmentation of the heart chambers, improves radiological interpretation with rapid and precise measurements. Deep-learning, which is part of artificial intelligence, would allow the reconstruction of cine-MRI sequences in free breathing, in order to overcome the artifacts from respiratory motions, and the improvement of diagnostic performance while improving examination conditions for patients. Patients coming for a cardiac MRI for the assessment of ischemic heart disease will be eligible to the protocol. If the patient agrees to participate, a free-breathing cardiac cine-MRI sequence with Deep Learning based image reconstruction will be added to the usual protocol. No follow-up will be required in this study.
Cardiovascular Risk Factors , Complications and Threputic Management Strategies in Patients With...
Ischemic Heart DiseaseUsing INTERASPIRE model to determine patients with established CHD whether the guidelines on cardiovascular disease prevention are being followed or not with incorporation of COVID 19 as a risk factor with the other classical risk factors to understand significance of the new pandemic virus in mortality and morbidity of CVD and coronary events in association with the other known classical risk factors .
Coronary Artery Disease in Elderly People Referred for TAVI
Aortic StenosisCoronary AngThe investigators prognostic impact of coronary artery disease (CAD) and of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with indication of TAVI is controversial, particularly in elderly population where CAD and aortic stenosis (AS) are frequent and commonly coexisted. (1-2) The primary end point of this prospective study is to compare major cardiovascular event at one year of follow up in patients over 80 years with severe aortic stenosis who referred for TAVI with or without associated CAD. The investigators will also assess (secondary endpoint) the impact of PCI on symptoms, major events and quality of life using geriatric parameters. The study will be conducted in the University hospital of Montpellier between November 2020 and November 2022
The Role of Gut Leakage Markers and Microbiota Signature in Coronary Artery Disease.
Coronary Artery DiseaseIntestinal DiseaseDefine a signature of gut microbiota composition and related metabolites in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction, non ST-elevation myocardial infarction and chronic coronary disease (CAD).
Clinical Outcomes of Patients Undergoing CABG Surgery With VEST Supported Venous Grafts
Coronary Artery DiseaseThis is a prospective, investigator-initiated, multi-center, open label and post-market registry, enrolling patients with atherosclerotic coronary artery disease, scheduled for CABG with at least one SVG bypass. The registry is designed to evaluate the clinical outcome of CABG surgery with an external support device (VEST) for SVG bypasses. In each patient, use of the VEST will be according to its approved indications for use and attempt will be made (based on clinical judgement) to support each non-sequential SVG bypass graft with a VEST device. Subjects will be followed for 5 years, with interim follow ups at 12 and 24 months. MACCE and EQ5D3L will be documented at every follow up visit.
Perioperative Troponin I and NT Pro-BNP in Lung Resection
Cardiac IschemiaThoracic Cancer1 moreAfter lung resection, troponin elevation may be regulated by mechanisms other than myocardial ischemia. Perioperative natriuretic peptides measurement may help identify changes in ventricular function during thoracic surgery. Integrating both cardiac biomarkers may improve the predictive value for cardiovascular complications after lung resection.
