Evaluating the Safety and Efficacy of the Maurora® DES in ICAS

Intracranial ArteriosclerosisStroke (CVA) or TIA

The purpose of the RCT trial is to evaluate whether implantation of drug-eluting stent (DES) is more efficacious than bare metal stent (BMS) in prevention of in-stent restenosis (ISR) and improvement of outcomes for symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis. This trial is prospective, multi-center, randomized 1:1 single blind trial using Maurora sirolimus eluting stent versus Apollo bare metal stent conducted in approximately 10 interventional neurology centers in China. The study is sponsored by Alain Medical (Beijing) Co., Ltd.

Coronary Artery DiseaseMyocardial Ischemia8 more

This prospective, multicenter, randomized, controlled, open-label clinical study has a target enrollment of 240 subjects. It will explore whether STEMI patients transferred to a PCI center following thrombolytic therapy and expected to have stent implantation might benefit from an alternative treatment strategy and the use of new technologies designed to improve myocardial protection throughout the medical care process.

Impact of Metformin on Peripheral Arterial Calcification in Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 DiabetesPeripheral Arterial Calcification

Vascular calcification (VC) is a complication frequently observed in elderly, in chronic kidney disease (CKD) and in diabetes (particularly in type 1 diabetes). VC is a dynamic pathophysiological process that causes cardiovascular morbidity and is an independent risk factor of major amputation. In vitro and human observational studies have suggested a role of metformin in preventing VC. The investigators propose to test the effect of metformin treatment during two years on lower limb arterial calcification evaluated by CT-scan in patients with type 1 diabetes and without CKD. This research is a phase III double blind randomized controlled trial consisting of 2 years double-blind treatment phase (patients randomized to metformin or placebo) in type 1 diabetic patients. The participants and the investigators will be blinded to the study medications taken during the double-blind treatment period

Intracranial ArteriosclerosisStroke

The primary goal of the trial is to determine if the experimental arms (rivaroxaban or ticagrelor or both) are superior to the clopidogrel arm for lowering the 1-year rate of ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, or vascular death.

Menopause Related Influences on Leukocyte Distribution, Monocyte Function and Platelet Reactivity...

ArteriosclerosisAcute Myocardial Infarction2 more

Women and men show marked differences in cardiovascular risk profile and outcome. Women experience fewer cardiovascular events than men before menopause, but this relationship seems to reverse at menopause. These disparities are probably due to hormonal factors, especially the female sex hormone estrogen seems to have a protective influence on the development of atherosclerotic plaques premenopausal. The underlying mechanisms of the effect of estrogens on the vessel wall are still insufficiently investigated. In this study, menopause related effects on leukocyte distribution and function as well on platelets and their aggregational response will be evaluated.
