Pain Informed Movement for People With Knee Osteoarthritis
Knee OsteoarthritisThe goal of this clinical trial is to compare a pain informed movement program to standard neuromuscular exercise in people with knee osteoarthritis. The main question it aims to answer are: Are the two interventions a) pain informed movement program plus pain neuroscience education and b) neuromuscular exercise plus standard osteoarthritis education feasible in terms of recruitment, treatment adherence, timelines, data collection procedures, patient follow-up, and resources required? Is there a difference in patient's satisfaction and acceptability of the two programs? Are there any differences in the potential effects of the two programs on subjective pain measures, self-reported function, quality of life, functional leg strength, nervous system pain modulation, brain derived neurotrophic factor and nerve growth factor levels, and psychological factors?
Cryoneurolysis for TKA - a Pilot Study
Knee Pain ChronicOsteoarthritisTotal Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) is also known as a knee replacement. It is one of the most common orthopaedic (bone) surgeries performed and is usually very successful, but some people who have had a knee replacement feel pain that lasts for at least 3 months after surgery and thus continue to take pain control/ analgesic (opioids) medication. Opiates are medications like morphine. Pain post-surgery can make it difficult to recover and return to daily activities. A better control of pain before the surgery, can help people feel less pain, recover faster, and use less opioids after surgery. Cryoneurolysis means freezing the nerves that can cause pain. It uses very low temperatures in a specific body part (e.g., nerves to the knee) to freeze the pain nerves and therefore reduce the pain. When applied before the surgery it might help with postoperative pain after knee replacement. This study will evaluate Iovera, a cryoneurolysis handheld device commercially available in Canada that delivers freezing cold to a target nerve by using nitrous oxide. Cryoneurolysis can relieve pain and symptoms associated with osteoarthritis of the knee for up to 90 days.
Investigating RELEARN Neurofeedback as Treatment for Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain
Chronic Knee PainChronic Pain1 moreThis clinical investigation will be carried out as a randomized controlled trial conducted at the Northern Regional Hospital, Hjørring. This investigation will enrol 36 patients suffering from severe knee osteoarthritis pain, primarily from the orthopaedic ward at Hjørring Hospital, where potential participants will be identified during routine consultations. The RELEARN intervention consists of encephalography (EEG) neurofeedback of cerebral movement evoked signatures of pain, where the participants will be instructed in attempting to manipulate these signatures to reduce pain perception. This investigation is carried out to analyse the clinical performance and safety of the RELEARN neurofeedback software.
Study to Determine the Efficacy and Safety of TG-C in Subjects With Kellgren/Lawrence Grade 2 or...
Degenerative OsteoarthritisA randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center, phase 3 study to determine the efficacy and safety of TG-C in subjects with Kellgren and Lawrence Grade 2 or 3 Osteoarthritis of the Knee, Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) medial joint space narrowing (JSN) Grade 1 or 2 of the knee joint. TG-C is to be administered by a single intra-articular injection to the damaged joint area via ultrasound guidance. Patients will be followed for 24 months for safety and efficacy.
The Effect of Adipose-Derived Stem Cells for Knee Osteoarthritis
Knee OsteoarthritisThe purpose of this study is to compare the clinical and functional outcomes of patients with mild to moderate arthroscopically confirmed osteoarthritis between the following two groups: Partial fat pad harvest with Adipose-Derived Stem Cell (ADSC) transplantation with standard arthroscopic treatment consisting of: partial meniscectomy, cartilage stabilization, loose body removal and selective synovectomy. Standard arthroscopic treatment (above) without cell transplant.
Healing Osteoarthritic Joints in the Wrist With Adult ADRCs
Osteoarthritis of the WristThis is a prospective, randomized, double-blinded, active controlled, single site safety and efficacy study in subjects suffering from chronic wrist osteoarthritis comparing a single ADRC injection generated with the Transpose® RT system into the wrist.

Osteoarthritis of Facet Joint of Lumbar SpineThis is a prospective, randomized, active controlled, single site safety and efficacy study in subjects suffering from chronic lumber back pain due to facet joint osteoarthritis comparing a single ADRC injection generated with the Transpose® RT system into the facet joint.
Home-based tDCS and Mindfulness-based Meditation for Self-management of Clinical Pain and Symptoms...
Osteo Arthritis KneeThe purpose of this study is to determine the effects of active transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) paired with active mindfulness-based meditation (MBM) on clinical pain, osteo arthritis (OA)-related clinical symptoms, physiopsychological pain processing and participant satisfaction with treatment in patients with knee OA.
Adipose-Derived Biocellular Regenerative Therapy for Osteoarthritis
OsteoarthritisOsteo Arthritis Knee5 moreUse of Biocellular and cellular approaches to treatment of Osteoarthritis (OA), musculoskeletal aging processes, pain, and degenerative changes are to be studied with minimally invasive protocols, and non-pharmaceutical means to relieve OA and its associated issues. Traditional surgical interventions have not yielded convincing long-term outcomes, including total joint replacement surgeries and medical management of the supportive structures. This study is to use a person's own stem/stromal Cells (autologous) plus HD-PRP (important healing growth factors and signal molecules) in such cases of OA for long-term minimally invasive treatments. Baseline (existing) findings are documented, and thence tracked as to progress deemed to be result of the intervention.
Rehabilitation Following Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty
Shoulder OsteoarthritisReverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) has been successful in patients with rotator cuff arthropathy, proximal humerus fractures, failed primary total shoulder arthroplasty or failed hemiarthroplasty, and massive irreparable rotator cuff tear. Patients who undergo an RTSA report pain relief and functional range of motion. It has been more than 20 years since the advent of the RTSA construct but an immediate post-operative rehabilitation with active shoulder range of motion has not been prospectively studied in comparison to the traditional post-operative rehabilitation highlighted by Boudreau et al.12 Investigators plan to prospectively follow our patients following RTSA undergoing an immediate active shoulder rehabilitation (IASR) vs traditional rehabilitation in a randomized controlled fashion. Investigators plan to document clinical outcomes, complications and cost effectiveness out to 1 year. The study will hopefully fulfill the Triple Aim model for HealthPartners by improving the health of the population, improve the experience of each individual, and make healthcare affordable by decreasing the total cost of care.
