AsthmaThis study aims to study the efficacy (as measured by change in FEV1) and safety of two-week administration of oral QAV680 in the treatment of patients with asthma.'
A Study to Evaluate MILR1444A in the Prevention of Allergen-Induced Airway Obstruction in Adults...
Allergic AsthmaThis is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study designed to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of MILR1444A compared with placebo in reducing the airway reaction to an inhaled aeroallergen solution in adult patients with mild allergic asthma. The study will randomize approximately 24 patients at five study centers. In the event of patient discontinuation from the study, additional patients may be enrolled at the discretion of the Sponsor.
A Study of Efficacy of New Doses of Xolair to Protect From Allergen Challenge in Groups of Asthma...
AsthmaThis study was intended to demonstrate that patients with standard and high immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels can be protected from allergen induced broncho-constriction by Xolair
Effect of an Allergen Vaccine in Patients With Allergic Rhino-Conjunctivitis and Asthma Due to House...
Perennial Allergic RhinoconjunctivitisAllergic AsthmaThe purpose of the study is to test the safety, tolerability, immunogenicity and clinical efficacy of the combination treatment AllQbG10 in patients with rhino-conjunctivitis and asthma due to house dust mite allergy in a single-center, open-label setting.
Adult Asthmatics and Acid Reflux
AsthmaThe purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of Nexium in the treatment of subjects with persistent asthma believed to have acid reflux as a contributory factor to control of their asthma.
Efficacy of Omalizumab in Adults (18-60 Years of Age) With Moderate-Severe, Persistent Allergic...
Allergic AsthmaThis study aims to investigate the effect of omalizumab on the number of tissue eosinophils and other markers of airway inflammation and remodeling, including thickness of the lamina reticularis, in moderate to severe asthmatics with persistent symptoms and evidence of airway inflammation despite treatment with inhaled corticosteroids and long acting beta-agonists. This study will also investigate the correlation between systemic and pulmonary inflammation, and the correlation between clinical outcomes and changes within the tissue, to assist in the future identification of patients with tissue eosinophilia and their response to treatment, without the need for invasive bronchoscopy.
Study Evaluating the Safety and Effects of MN-221 in Subjects With Moderate to Severe Asthma
AsthmaThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of MN-221 at two different dosing rates administered through a continuous infusion in subjects diagnosed with moderate to severe asthma.
Inhaled Steroid Treatment as Regular Therapy in Early Asthma
AsthmaA study of the effect of the early treatment with Pulmicort of newly diagnosed asthma. Patients will receive either Pulmicort or a non-active treatment for three years. Neither patients or investigators will be aware of the treatment received. After three years of treatment all patients will receive Pulmicort for 2 further years.
Ciclesonide for the Treatment of Airway Hyperresponsiveness
AsthmaThe study objective is to investigate in a placebo-controlled, double-blind manner the effect of inhaled corticosteroid (ciclesonide) on airway hyperresponsiveness measured as having PD15 mannitol. Treatment medication will be administered as follows: 320 microgram ciclesonide or placebo will be inhaled once daily. The study duration consists of a treatment period of 4 weeks. The study will provide further data on safety of ciclesonide.
