Endothelial Cell Loss and Induced Astigmatism After Wound-directed and Wound-assisted IOL Injection...
CataractsCataract SurgeryThe purpose of this study is to determine if there is any difference in astigmatism (eye surface curvature) or corneal endothelial cell density (the inner cell lining of the eye surface) after two different methods for inserting a lens during cataract surgery.
Toric Eye Strain and Stability Study
AstigmatismThe purpose of this study is to determine the benefits of fitting low astigmats with soft toric contact lenses versus spherical contact lenses with regard to visual comfort, eyestrain, fitting efficiency, and visual performance.
Wavefront-guided PRK vs Wavefront-optimized PRK
MyopiaAstigmatismThe purpose of the study is to compare the results of PRKK surgery when using wavefront-guided excimer laser treatment compared to wavefront optimized excimer laser treatment in patients with nearsightedness with and without astigmatism
Comparison of a Laser Keratome to a Mechanical Microkeratome
MyopiaAstigmatism1 moreThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of the INTRALASE®, a laser keratome which creates a corneal flap, and compare it to a mechanical microkeratome (Amadeus™). Our hypothesis is that there is no difference between the 2 devices.
Evaluation of Visual Outcomes After Myopic LASIK
MyopiaAstigmatism1 moreThe aim of the study was to evaluate visual outcomes, contrast sensitivity, glare testing and high order aberrations induced by different laser technologies and to evaluate differences in aberrometer technology. We hypothesized that there will not be differences among conventional or wavefront guided treatments.
Surgical Correction of Astigmatism
AstigmatismLaser correction for myopia and astigmatism using an excimer laser has been performed with success for several years. During the last 2 years, a new method for correction of refractive errors has emerged. In the method (ReLex) a femtosecond laser is used to cut a lenticule in the corneal stroma that is subsequently removed. For simple myopia this method has proved effective and on par with excimer baser LASIK. However, it remains to be determined if ReLEx is as effective in the treatment of astigmatism. In the study, patients with high astigmatism are treated with conventional LASIK for astigmatism in one eye and with ReLEx for astigmatism in the other.
LFR-260 vs Traditional Phoropter in Visual Acuity Testing
Visual AcuityAstigmatism1 moreThe purpose of this study is to establish if LFR-260 (investigational device) is not inferior in effectiveness to a traditional phoropter (control device) when applied in visual acuity test in subjects undergoing a full routine eye examination. LFR-260 proposes to provide information of the visual capabilities of the patient. The test will be provided and supervised by a qualified eye care provider. The informed consent, screening, randomization (into the order of visual test device used), (visual) device testing (to include precision testing, remote and offsite testing) will all occur at a single visit.
A Study to Evaluate the Safety and Effectiveness of the 217z Laser With Zyoptix for Lasik
MyopiaAstigmatismA Study to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of wavefront laser refractive surgery treatments for myopia and astigmatism.
Clinical Comparison of Toric Contact Lenses Fit Characteristics
AstigmatismRefractive ErrorsThe purpose of this study is to compare the fit characteristics between four Alcon commercially available toric contact lenses.
Investigation of Corneal Aberrations and Visual Outcomes in Patients Implanted With an AcrySof Toric...
CataractsAstigmatismA prospective evaluation of postoperative corneal aberrations and visual parameters (e.g. visual acuity) in patients implanted with an AcrySof Toric IOL.
