Clinical and Genetic Characteristics of Coronary Artery Disease in Chinese Young Adults

Coronary Artery DiseasePercutaneous Coronary Intervention

The aim of this study is to identify genetic loci,or gene variations contributing to the development of coronary artery disease (CAD) in Chinese young adults. Investigators will compare coronary angiogram results to genetic findings within young CAD patients.

Young Toe-Brachial Index Assessment

Diabetes MellitusCoronary Artery Disease,1 more

The Toe-Brachial Index (TBI) that has been using in our laboratory is 0.6, but the average value we measured in normal individuals is about 1.0, furthermore, we can not find out the reference of TBI that is currently being used. The purpose of this study is to determine the more accurate value of TBI and Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI). In this study, all participants will be required to fill out a demographic questionnaire before the blood pressures test. All participants will have their toe, ankle and brachial systolic blood pressure measurements to obtain the TBI and ABI.

Associations Between Diabetes, Arterial Stiffness and Fibulin-1 in Patients Undergoing Heart- and...

Coronary Artery DiseaseArteriosclerosis4 more

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is frequently appearing in patients with cardiovascular disease and these patients, as a consequence herby, has a lesser prognosis. DM is often related to increased arterial stiffness and hypertension. The investigators thesis is that DM and pre-diabetes is prevalent in patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery and to some extend is under-diagnosed. At the same time the investigators imagine that DM is closely related to the degree of arterial stiffness, and that these parameters are closely related to a new biochemical marker, fibulin-1. The investigators aim to describe the prevalence of type 2 DM and dysmetabolism in patients admitted to the hospital to undergo cardiovascular surgery and besides that to investigate if there is a connection between the degree of the dysmetabolism and arterial disease, by studying arterial stiffness and by measuring a new biochemical marker, fibulin-1, which the investigators newly have identified. The results of this project will give us a measure for the quantity of unknown DM in patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery and furthermore tell us more in terms of the connections between a newly identified plasma arterial marker, arterial stiffness and diabetes.

Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver DiseaseCoronary Artery Disease

The most common cause of death in patients with NAFLD(Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease) is CAD(Coronary Artery Disease). NAFLD patients have 65% more mortality than general population. The aim of the investigators study is to diagnose early coronary artery disease in NAFLD patient by measuring of PLA2. The investigators expect that PLA2 will higher in patients with patients with combination of CAD, unstable plaque and NAFLD.

Transluminal Attenuation Gradient Versus CT Fractional Flow Reserve

Coronary Artery Disease

Coronary computed tomographic angiography (CCTA) has emerged as a non-invasive test, accurately evaluate anatomic coronary artery stenosis. However, anatomically-obstructive coronary stenosis by CCTA demonstrates an unreliable relationship to lesion-specific ischemia. Recently, with the advance of imaging reconstruction and analysis technique, several novel parameters computed from CCTA were suggested to have added value in determining the ischemia-causing coronary stenosis. In this study, diagnostic performance of transluminal attenuation gradient (TAG) and fractional flow reserve computed form CCTA (FFR-CCTA) for the presence of hemodynamically-significant coronary stenosis, as determined by fractional flow reserve (FFR).
