Safety and Efficacy of Using HDH Device and Method - a Novel Sutureless Vascular Anastomosis

Vascular DiseaseAtherosclerosis

The HDH device is intended for creating sutureless vascular anastomosis in various blood vessels. The HDH device consists of four parts: an elastic tube (graft), docking head (anastomotic device), inversion device (connects the vascular graft to HDH) and measuring device. This study was design in order to evaluate the safety and efficacy of using HDH device and method an innovative anastomotic device for sutureless aortic anastomosis in patient diagnosed with abdominal aneurysm or Aorto-iliac aneurysm.

Effect of Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) on Subclinical Atherosclerosis

Atherosclerosis

Shear stress maybe the most crucial local factor affecting atherogenesis. The present study investigated the effect of exposure to increased shear stress promoted by Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) on the progression of subclinical atherosclerosis and the underlying inflammation- related molecular mechanisms

Safety and Efficacy of Aliskiren on the Progression of Atherosclerosis in Coronary Artery Disease...

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)Coronary Atherosclerosis

The study will assess the change in coronary atherosclerotic disease as determined by intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) for aliskiren compared to placebo when given in addition to standard therapy in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and a blood pressure in the pre-hypertensive range.

Chronic DiseaseKidney Diseases1 more

The primary aim of the study is to evaluate the effects of correction of anemia using erythropoietin on the progression of atherosclerosis and cardiac muscle thickening in patients with chronic kidney disease

Effect of Valsartan on Carotid Artery Disease

Carotid Artery DiseasesAtherosclerosis

The EFFERVESCENT trial is designed to evaluate the effects of a specific ARB, called valsartan, on atherosclerosis. The investigators want to know if treatment with valsartan will increase the blood levels of markers responsible for repair of the vessel wall, reduce oxidation and inflammation, improve the function of the blood vessels, and arrest or slow down the progression of atherosclerosis over time.

Aspirin Non-responsiveness and Clopidogrel Endpoint Trial.

Coronary Heart DiseaseAngina Pectoris1 more

In the ASCET study, 1000 patients with documented coronary heart disease will be randomized to either continued treatment with aspirin 160 mg/d or change to clopidogrel 75mg/d. Clinical endpoints will be recorded for at least 2 years and related to the initial aspirin response, assessed by the PFA-100® method, to investigate whether aspirin non-responders have higher composite event rate than responders or whether Clopidogrel treatment in patients non-responsive to aspirin will reduce their risk of future clinical events. The clinical events are the composite of unstable angina, myocardial infarction, stroke or death.

Early Signs of Atherosclerosis in Obstructive Sleep Apnea: Effects of Treatment

Obstructive Sleep ApneaAtherosclerosis

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is associated with adverse cardiovascular outcomes, including acute myocardial infarction and stroke. Atherosclerosis is an important step for these events. Recent studies demonstrated the independent association between OSA and validated markers of atherosclerosis. However, the impact of treatment with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) on these markers is unknown. The purpose of this study is to determine whether CPAP therapy can reverses early signs of atherosclerosis in apparently healthy OSA patients.
