Prevalence of Subclinical Atrial Fibrillation in Heart Failure Patients and Its Relationship With...

Heart FailureAtrial Fibrillation

Multicentre, prospective cohort study in patients with a history of HF with preserved or reduced ejection fraction admitted to hospital with acutely decompensated HF. Eligible and consenting patients will be enrolled at 3 Hamilton, Ontario area hospitals and receive 28-day ECG monitoring implemented at the time of hospital discharge. Patients will be followed for a total of 1 year from hospital discharge.

A.Fib Emergency Department Study Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial Fibrillation

Patients with a history of atrial fibrillation (AF) who frequently attend the emergency department (ED) with symptoms may not require emergency treatment, and may be more appropriately managed in an alternative outpatient setting. This may be the result of inappropriate or inadequate advice or a lack of patient understanding. The main research objective pertains to the reason for seeking medical attention for AF in the ED, ED management of the patient, outcomes of ED care and alternative strategies.

Patients' Assessment of Satisfaction for Stroke Prevention in Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial Fibrillation

To describe the treatment perception from patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) receiving Pradaxa® or VKA for stroke prevention by using the self-estimation questionnaire of PACT-Q during a 6-month study period.

Biatrial Global High-density Electroanatomical Mapping of Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial Fibrillation

This study uses two AcQMap imaging and electroanatomical mapping systems (Acutus Medical) to simultaneously visualise and map patterns of wavefront propagation in both the left and right atria during atrial fibrillation in order to identify mechanisms of rhythm propagation and maintenance and the importance of the interaction of the left and right atria. Mapping will also be performed during pacing from different sites and cycle lengths to identify regions of abnormal conduction that may be related to the maintenance of atrial fibrillation.

Detection of Heart Rhythm and BP With RhythmPadBP

Atrial Fibrillation

This study will assess a new device, the RhythmPadBP, which detects heart rhythm and measure blood pressure simply by placing palms of the hands on a pad containing titanium electrodes.

Birkebeiner II Study

Atrial Fibrillation

Prolonged endurance exercise is associated with an elevated risk of atrial fibrillation (AF). The mechanisms governing this increased risk remains elusive. This study aim to detail the specific traits of elderly subjects with AF conducting endurance training by comparing elderly participators in the Birkebeiner cross country ski race(an indicator of prolonged endurance exercise practice) with and without AF to a not-so-trained control group.

Assessment of Adherence to New Oral anTicoagulants in Atrial Fibrillation patiEnts Within the Outpatient...

Atrial Fibrillation

A prospective non-interventional single-centre study aimed to evaluate actual adherence of AF patients using the validated adherence Scale. Primary Study Objective(s) Primary study objective The aim of the present study is to assess adherence to therapy and factors associated with adherence in patients with CV disease complicated by non-valvular atrial fibrillation requiring OAC treatment within the outpatient registry PROFILE (prospective, observational study). Data collection in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation requiring OAC treatment included in the registry Evaluation of actual patient adherence to OACs Secondary Study Objective(s) Evaluation of potential patient adherence to OACs Determination of the most significant factors associated with adherence to OACs in patients with non-valvular AF Validation of new original 5-item Questionnaire Evaluation of doctor's adherence to OAC prescription according to Guidelines (ESC). Management of atrial fibrillation,2016)

Post-Market Surveillance With a Novel mHealth Platform

GastrectomyAtrial Fibrillation

This is a study to pilot the feasibility of using a novel patient-led, smartphone-based mobile health platform (Hugo) for real-world surveillance of outcomes of patients after they undergo a bariatric surgical procedure (either sleeve gastrectomy or gastric bypass) and catheter-based atrial fibrillation ablation

Completed9 enrollment criteria

Screening for Atrial Fibrillation (AF)-Potential Patients to Increase AF Detection Rate

Atrial Fibrillation

To assess the prevalence of all (prevalent and paroxysmal) undiagnosed atrial fibrillation (AF) in a Japanese population with a moderate-to-high risk of stroke

Completed3 enrollment criteria

LAAO With DAPT Versus Antithrombotic Therapy

Atrial FibrillationCoronary Artery Disease

This study will retrospectively review and compare clinical outcomes between left atrial appendage occlusion with dual antiplatelet therapy versus conventional antithrombotic therapy in patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing drug-eluting stent implantation.
