Phase I Trial of Endoxifen Gel Versus Placebo in Women Undergoing Breast Surgery
Breast Ductal Carcinoma In SituBreast Lobular Carcinoma In Situ11 moreThis randomized phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of endoxifen hydrochloride in treating participants who are undergoing breast surgery. Endoxifen hydrochloride may treat or reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Breast Ductal Carcinoma In SituCOVID-19 Infection2 moreThis study investigates the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on out-of-pocket costs, lost wages, and unemployment in patients with breast cancer undergoing breast surgery. Post-mastectomy reconstructive patients are at high risk for financial toxicity (adverse effects of escalating health care cost on well-being). The goal of this study is to collect information about financial costs patients may have as a result of surgical treatment for cancer with or without breast reconstruction and to learn if COVID-19 affects patient costs of breast reconstruction. This may help researchers demonstrate the financial consequences of undergoing breast surgery.
Trial of Low Dose Tamoxifen in Women With Breast Intraepithelial Neoplasia - Long Term Follow-up...
CarcinomaIntraductal5 moreThe aim of the study is to evaluate whether tamoxifen at a low dose of 5mg/d reduces in the long term the incidence of invasive breast cancer and ductal carcinoma in situ, DCIS (DIN 1c, 2, 3) of the breast, in woman operated for lobular intraepithelial neoplasia (LIN1, 2 and 3) or ER-positive ductal intraepithelial neoplasia (DIN 1b, DIN2, DIN3, 1a excluded) of the breast. To improve the risk-benefit ratio, the use of lower doses of the drug has been proposed. Biomarker trials revealed that 5 mg/d was noninferior to 20 mg/d in inhibiting proliferation of breast cancer and normal endometrial tissue. By contrast, the risk of endometrial cancer si dose-dependent, and the dose reduction can lead a substantial decrease. Morover a dose of 5 mg/day is associated with an overall decrease of the estrogenic activity of tamoxifen on insulin like growth factor (IGF-I), sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) and antithrombin-III, with a decrease of venous thromboembolic events. Moreover, tamoxifen exhibits a high tissue distribution, so that a dose of 5 mg/day attains at the breast tissue level a concentration 10 times higher than that needed to inhibit cell growth in vitro. A prospective cohort study also showed that 10 mg on alternate days halves recurrence of DCIS in postmenopausal women. It has been shown that the treatment of dysplasia or pre-cancer drives the reduction of the invasive neoplasms onset. This is a chemoprevention trial designed to validatate the low-dose Tamoxifen in women with diseases at high evolutionary risk. The demonstration of efficacy and safety of such a treatment for the prevention of the invasive breast cancer would lead improvements in term of survival and quality of life for the patients at increased risk.
Neoadjuvant Therapy of Abiraterone Plus ADT for Intraductal Carcinoma of the Prostate
Prostate CancerNeoadjuvant treatment before radical prostatectomy has been proven to provide benefits on peri-operation results, especially on reduction of tumor volume and minimization of biochemical recurrence. This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of abiraterone acetate Plus androgen deprivation therapy(ADT)in high-risk localized prostate cancer with intraductal carcinoma of the prostate(IDC-P).
Comparing Vacuum-Assisted Percutaneous Excision to Open Surgical Excision for Borderline or High-Risk...
Breast FibroadenomaAtypical Ductal Hyperplasia8 moreThis randomized controlled trial compares vacuum-assisted percutaneous excision to open standard surgical excision in women who have high-risk or borderline, non-malignant breast lesions with respect to efficacy, safety, cosmesis and patient satisfaction.
Nelipepimut-S Plus GM-CSF Vaccine Therapy in Treating Patients With Breast Cancer
Breast Ductal Carcinoma In SituThis phase II trial studies how well nelipepimut-S plus GM-CSF vaccine therapy or sargramostim works in treating patients with breast cancer. Vaccines made from peptide or antigen and/or a person's white blood cells mixed with tumor proteins may help the body build an effective immune response to kill tumor cells that express breast cancer antigens. It is not yet known whether nelipepimut-S plus GM-CSF vaccine or sargramostim is more effective in treating patients with breast cancer.
Contrast-Enhanced MRI for the Characterization of Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS)
Breast Cancer*REFERRALS TO THIS TRIAL MUST BE THROUGH BREAST CARE CLINICIANS ONLY* RATIONALE: Diagnostic procedures, such as contrast-enhanced MRI, may help find and diagnose ductal carcinoma in situ. PURPOSE: This study is to develop and refine magnetic resonance (MR) imaging methods for pre-operative staging of ductal carcinoma in situ, a pre-invasive form of breast cancer, and atypical ductal hyperplasia, a risk factor for developing cancer.
Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI) Using Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
Ductal Carcinoma in SituInvasive Ductal Carcinoma of Female BreastThis is a multi-institutional, prospective, observational registry investigating the safety and efficacy of Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI) using a Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) delivery technique that incorporates real-time image guidance, noncoplanar fields, and respiratory tracking. The study will accrue 200 patients who will be treated to a dose of 30 Gy over the course of 5 fractions. These subjects will then have a follow up time of 5 years
Decision Making Tool in Supporting Decision Making in Contralateral Prophylactic Mastectomy in Patients...
Anatomic Stage I Breast Cancer AJCC v8Anatomic Stage IA Breast Cancer AJCC v821 moreThis trial studies the acceptability and how well decision making tool works in supporting decision making in contralateral prophylactic mastectomy in patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer. Decision making tool may help patients with early stage breast cancer make decisions regarding their surgical options.
Soy Isoflavones Supplementation in Treating Women at High Risk For or With Breast Cancer
BRCA1 Mutation CarrierBRCA2 Mutation Carrier7 moreRATIONALE: Chemoprevention is the use of certain drugs to keep cancer from forming. The use of soy isoflavones supplements may prevent or treat early stage breast cancer. PURPOSE: This clinical trial studies soy isoflavones supplementation in treating women at high risk for or with breast cancer.
