Evaluation of a Clinical Transitional Program in Autism
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)Clinical trial without drug, randomized: Comparison of a specific and integrative clinical protocol for young adults with autism to usual treatment. It will include both low and high-functioning participants.
Can Novel Telemedicine Tools Reduce Disparities Related to Early Identification of Autism
Autism Spectrum DisorderDevelopmental DelayIn this study, the investigators are trying to find new ways to screen for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in young children. The investigators want to see if people like pediatricians can screen children for ASD while a psychologist watches on a monitor. The investigators are testing two screening tools. The investigators want to see if they are good at identifying children with ASD and children without ASD. The investigators hope this research will make it easier for families to get answers when there are concerns for ASD.
The Effect Of Virtual Reality Glasses On The Behavior Of Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder...
Autism Spectrum DisorderThe aim of this study is to determine whether the use of virtual reality glasses showing an immersive video simulation of the dental visit will help decrease anxiety at future appointments by decreasing the element of surprise and increasing the patient's familiarity and comfort level with a specific dental practice environment.
Glutaminergic Transmission in Autism : Molecular Imaging Exploration
AutismFragile-X Syndrome (FXS)1 moreGlutamatergic transmission exploration using PET (Positron Emission Tomography) imaging in autism compared to Fragile-X Syndrome ( FXS) and Healthy Volunteers
Study of the Effectiveness of a Computer Decision Support System to Improve Physicians' Screening...
Healthy Children Undergoing Routine CareChildren With AutismThe investigators hypothesize that children seen in a clinic that uses a compute based system known as CHICA, which reminds pediatricians to screen at defined time point for autism, will be screened more consistently for autism and receive more timely diagnostic a treatment services.
Autologous Bone Marrow Stem Cells for Children With Autism Spectrum Disorders
AutismAutism SpectrumThe purpose of this study is to determine whether the plasticity of autologous intrathecal hematopoietic cells would improve the neurologic and the social skills of pediatric patients with autism spectrum disorders.
Collaborative Study Of Neurofeedback Training Of 6-18 Year Olds With Autism
AutismNeurofeedback, a neuro-cognitive training method based on operant conditioning, will be employed with 90 children with the Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) over a 60 session training period to improve the limiting behavioral and sensory symptoms Autism presents (with each collaborative site working with 45 of the 90 participants). This study seeks to demonstrate that Neurofeedback training, a non-invasive approach based on Learning Theory, will mitigate presenting symptoms of Autism, and ultimately render the person with Autism significantly more able to interact with his/her environment successfully, independently function on a day-to-day basis, and improve overall mental health.
Training Early Social Language in Autism
Autism Spectrum DisorderThe aim of the study is to determine whether a targeted behavioral intervention can lead to both changes in early communication skills and in neural responses in toddlers and preschoolers with autism.
Probiotic in Autism
Autism Spectrum DisorderOne suitable probiotic packet will be administered to one group and placebo to another group of autism children and improvement in CARS will be monitored
Efficacy of RAD001/Everolimus in Autism and NeuroPsychological Deficits in Children With Tuberous...
Tuberous Sclerosis ComplexTSC Related Cognitive Disability2 moreTuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a genetic disease that leads to mental retardation in over 50% of patients, and to learning problems, behavioral problems, autism and epilepsy in up to 90% of patients. The underlying deficit of TSC, loss of inhibition of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) protein due to dysfunction of the tuberin/hamartin protein complex, can be rescued by everolimus. Everolimus has been registered as treatment for renal cell carcinoma and giant cell astrocytoma (SEGA). Evidence in human and animal studies suggests that mTOR inhibitors improve learning and development in patients with TSC.
