Intervention for Toddlers at Risk for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
Autism Spectrum DisorderThis research is being done to test the effectiveness of an early intervention model for very young children at high risk for autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and their families. If children show improvement in this intervention, the investigators hope that the availability of public services of this type will be increased. Children between 11 months and 21 months old with Autism Spectrum Disorders, or with social and communication delays that indicate high risk for Autism Spectrum Disorders, and their parents may join the study. Treatment must start prior to the second birthday.
A Pilot Trial of a Developmental, Individual-Difference, Relationship-Bases (DIR)/Floortime for...
Autistic Spectrum DisordersThirty two children age 2-6 years are recruited into the study and the randomization will be stratified for chronological age and symptom severity into 2 main groups, intervention and control. The intervention group will receive an additional target treatment of DIR/Floortime parent training intervention, while the control group will continue on their routine care for 3 months. Hypothesis: Children in the intervention group show much improvement in climbing the developmental "ladder" and declining in the autistic behaviors.

AutismAutistic DisorderWe aimed to use Tongue Acupuncture (TAC) to assess for any change in brain function.
Anxiety Intervention for Preschool Children With ASD
Anxiety DisorderAutism Spectrum DisorderThis study evaluates the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of a treatment program for anxiety in preschool children with autism spectrum disorder.
A Brief Parent-based Sleep Intervention for Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder
ASDInsomniaSleep problems are very common in children with ASD, with a prevalence rate as high as 78%, and often pose significant challenges and stress to the families. Sleep problems in children with ASD are strongly associated with the exacerbation of daytime symptoms, and poor parental sleep quality and mental health. The present study is a randomised controlled trial to compare the effects of a parent-based sleep intervention for children with ASD (aged 3-6). Eligible participants will be randomised to either intervention (three consultation sessions and four follow-up phone calls) or waiting-list control condition. Assessments will be conducted at pre-treatment (baseline), and one-week after the intervention (post-treatment).
Balance Auditory Vision Training (Bal-A-Vis-X) and Aerobic Training in Children With Autism Spectrum...
Autism Spectrum Disorderthe aim of this study is to compare the effects of Rhythmic Balance, Auditory, and Vision Exercises and Aerobic training in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Evaluation of a Resiliency Intervention for Siblings of Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)...
StressThe proposed research has the following objectives: Based off findings from the "Development of a Resiliency Program for Siblings of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder" qualitative focus group study (protocol 2019P002284), the aim is to determine the feasibility and acceptability, of an 8-session Relaxation Response Resiliency (SibChat) program for siblings of children with ASD. We primarily aim to test the preliminary effectiveness of a pilot waitlist controlled trial on improving resiliency and stress coping, This will be assessed by comparing Baseline-3 mo. scores on primary and secondary outcome measures between the Immediate and Waitlist control groups. Among participants randomized to both conditions, we secondarily aim to investigate the extent of pre-post changes in primary and secondary outcomes. Among immediate condition group only, we also aim to assess whether end-of-treatment (3 mo. post enrollment) improvements will be sustained at 6-mo. post enrollment.
Feasibility of Using Telepractice to Provide Modified Interaction Guidance.
Autism Spectrum DisorderThe purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of using telepractice to provide Modified Interaction Guidance (MIG) to caregivers and their child with autism. MIG as an intervention to improve attachment for children with autism and their primary caregiver.
A Proof-of-Concept Study of Minocycline in Autism
Autism Spectrum DisorderAutismThe purpose of the study is to determine if Minocycline shows initial evidence of efficacy, safety, and tolerability in youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder ages 12 to 22 years.
The Effect of the Low Fodmap Diet in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorders
Autism Spectrum DisorderThis study assesses the effect of the low fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides, and polyols (FODMAP) diet on gastrointestinal (GI) and behavioral problems in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The objectives of this study are: -To determine whether the low FODMAP diet causes a decrease in gastrointestinal problems related to ASD -To determine whether the low FODMAP diet causes a decrease in behavioral problems -To assess the effect of decreased gastrointestinal problems on reduction of behavioral problems
