Focused Registry on the Conservative Treatment of Osteoarthritis of the Knee

OsteoarthritisKnee1 more

The primary objective of this registry is to assess the functional outcome measured with the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) for patients with medial unicompartmental osteoarthritis and osteonecrosis of the knee treated conservatively. The aim of the Focused Registry is to complete the data collection and enable a sound analysis for the Tomofix Small size study.

MOTO Post-marketing Surveillance Study

OsteonecrosisOsteo Arthritis Knee

The prospective, multicentric, observational study has the aims to monitor the performance of the MOTO medial unicompartmental knee system in the treatment of patients with knee disease requiring a UKA. 150 patients will be recruited in 18 months and will be reviewed until 5 years follow-up visit after surgery. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the prosthesis survival at 5 years.

Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells in the Synovial Fluid of the Hip

Osteonecrosis

Previous studies have shown an increase in the concentration of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC's) in the setting of osteoarthritis of the knee and its correlation to severity. Researchers have shown that as there is an increase in the severity of the disease, the concentration of stem cells also increases. The purpose of this study is to determine if there is the same increase in stem cell concentration in patients with osteonecrosis (ON) of the femoral head.

Gender Solutions Natural Knee Post-Market Study

OsteoarthritisInflammatory Arthritis4 more

This is a prospective multicenter study of the Gender Solutions Natural Knee Flex System when used in primary total knee arthroplasty. The purpose of the study is to obtain short-, Mid-, and long-term clinical outcomes and implant survivorship data for the Gender Solutions Natural Knee Flex System.

Outcome After Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head in Young Patients

Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head

The course of AVN between Initial diagnosis and total hip replacement (THA) is analysed. The impact of early interventions versus conservative therapy in AVN before THA will be evaluated. The short and long term outcomes of AVN patients undergoing THA with respect to complications, reoperations and quality of life are investigated. Potential risk factors for adverse outcomes will be investigated.

CONDOR Study of Osteonecrosis of the Jaws (TMJ)

Osteonecrosis of the Jaw

The purpose of this study was to examine risk factors for osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ), including the possible association with bisphosphonates (BPs). This study used the research infrastructure from the three NIDCR-funded dental practice-based research networks (DPBRN, PEARL, PRECEDENT). De-identified data from the DPBRN were merged with comparable de-identified data from PEARL and PRECEDENT to form a single trans-PBRN data set used for analysis.

Vertebral Fracture and Osteonecrosis Associated With High-dose Glucocorticoid

Vertebral FractureOsteonecrosis1 more

Osteoporotic vertebral fracture (VF) and osteonecrosis of the femoral head (OFH) are major concerns in patients with systemic rheumatic diseases treated with high-dose glucocorticoids (GCs). The investigators examined and compared the incidence and risk factors of VF with those of OFH in patients who had recently received high-dose GC therapy to clarify the relationship between these two complications.

CT Imaging Evaluation of Humerus Fractures

Avascular NecrosisHumeral Fractures

Displaced, multi-part intracapsular, proximal humerus fractures represent a major challenge for patients and orthopedic surgeons. Proximal humerus fractures represent the third most common fracture after hip and distal radius fractures, and more than 20% of these fractures meet operative indications. Unfortunately, one of the major complications of these fractures is the development of avascular necrosis (AVN), or death of the bone as a result of the loss of blood supply to it. Currently, the ability to predict AVN is limited. The purpose of this study is to determine if computed tomography imaging can identify a quantifiable predictor of AVN following this type of humeral fracture.

Proposal For The Development Of A Well Defined Database For Patients With Oral Bisphosphonate-Related...

Osteonecrosis

In cooperation with Merck & Co, Inc. we will identify and form a database of 35 patients who have developed osteochemonecrosis of the jaws related to oral bisphosphonate use. We will study the triggers, associated medical conditions and medications, location of the lesion(s), and patient outcomes.
