Stratified Primary Care for Low Back Pain
Low Back PainThe SPLIT project evaluates the implementation of a stratified model of care for people with low back pain patients who consulted primary care. This involves evaluating the process of implementation as well as patient level outcomes. The project consists of two phases: First, a before-after study comprising two sequential but independent cohort studies will be conducted to compare the outcomes and cost-effectiveness of current practice with the SPLIT stratified model of care. Second, an implementation strategy will be developed based on the results of a survey regarding determinants of current practice, and two focus groups concerning the barriers and facilitators for the implementation of the SPLIT stratified model of care.
High Intensity Interval Training VS Moderate Intensity Continuous Training in Chronic Low Back Pain...
Low Back PainThe current guidelines for non-specific CLBP, recommend a conservative approach with exercise therapy, as first line treatment. Endurance and resistance training are two examples of recommended exercise therapies. However, it appears that none is recommended as superior over the other.
The Biomechanical Effects of Manual Therapy - A Feasibility Study
Low Back PainMechanicalThe aim of this study is to determine the feasibility of conducting a full-scale trial to explore if there is a change in intervertebral movement following a course of manual therapy in patients with acute non-specific low back pain (NSLBP). Research Questions: In patients with acute NSLBP, does lumbar intervertebral movement change following a course of manual therapy? In patients with acute NSLBP, do those who respond to manual therapy (established by patient reported outcomes measures) have different intervertebral movement to those who do not?

To Observe the Effect of Sphinx Pose (Salamba Bhujangasana) Among Health Care Providers With Chronic...
Chronic Low-back PainThis Randomized Controlled trial is designed to observe the effect of Sphinx Yoga (Salamba Bhujangasana) on low back pain and variation in the associated physiological parameters that help explain the beneficial effects of yoga, among healthcare providers of Karachi Pakistan. Healthcare providers with LBP (determined as per the baseline assessment) will be recruited and Substance P and Beta Endorphins will be assessed at baseline and after 3 months. The subjects with LBP will be determined based on the scores of the Oswestry Low Back Pain Disability Questionnaire, Numerical Pain Rating (NPR) scale, Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ) and Fear Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire (FABQ) work subscale. Subjects meeting eligibility criteria will be randomly allotted to intervention and control groups. The study outcomes will be monitored in subjects of both groups at baseline and after 3-month follow-up (post-interventional).
Prevention and Treatment of Low Back Pain in Young Female TeamGym Gymnasts
Low Back PainSpecific stabilization training targeting the deep trunk muscles has shown good effect in the rehabilitation of Low Back Pain (LBP) in young female TeamGym (TG) gymnasts. However, if this training can prevent LBP in this young population remains to be investigated. The aim of the present study was to investigate if a specific lumbar stabilization program can reduce and prevent LBP in young female TG gymnasts.
