Attachment-Based Family Therapy for Adolescents With Binge Eating
Bulimia NervosaBinge-Eating Disorder1 moreThe purpose of this study is to examine whether Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), a well-validated treatment for adolescents with depression and suicidality, is feasible and acceptable for adolescents with binge eating and their families.
Augmenting Cognitive Behavioral Therapy With Inhibitory Control Training
Binge-Eating DisorderBulimia NervosaThe primary aim of this study is to determine whether a computerized inhibitory control training (ICT) will improve CBT treatment outcomes for Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder.
Genetic Association of Glucocorticoid Receptor Gene Polymorphisms With Binge Eating
Binge-Eating DisorderEating Disorders3 moreThe aim of the present study was to specifically screen obese diabetic adolescent female individuals for BED, checking the variants of the GR gene (rs56149945; rs41423247) amongst identified individuals, and this led to assessing the impact of binge eating disorders on glycaemic control in obese diabetic adolescent females in Pakistan, South Asia.
Theta Burst Stimulation in Binge Eating Disorder: A Single Session RCT
Binge-Eating DisorderBinge eating disorder (BED) is a common and disabling eating disorder (ED) which presents a substantial disease burden. Individuals seeking treatment for binge eating difficulties typically receive talking therapy treatment however, treatment response is inadequate. As such, it is imperative that novel treatment options be identified. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) techniques are well established for the treatment of depression and preliminary findings indicate that similarly therapeutic effects may occur in populations with eating difficulties. Intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS) is a novel variant of excitatory rTMS which is emerging as an attractive alternative to standard stimulation. This trial aims to assess the feasibility of conducting a large scale randomised controlled trial (RCT) investigating theta burst in individuals with binge eating disorder, and to examine whether theta burst stimulation may improve symptoms in this population.

The Health of Competitive Fitness Athletes
Resting Metabolic RateBone Mineral Density11 moreFitness athletes emphasize the value of staying lean, muscular and defined, and motivates and inspires followers through social media. We want to study the effect of such lifestyle on selected aspects of psychological and physical health in female fitness athletes, and compare the outcomes to a healthy, physically active female population.
Emotion Regulation and Binge Eating in Youth With Obesity
ObesityBinge-Eating DisorderThis study will investigate neural activation patterns in emotion- and cognition-related brain regions during an emotion regulation task involving cognitive reappraisal, and their associations with age and pubertal status, among overweight children and adolescents with loss of control eating as compared to overweight and normal-weight controls.
Hormone Release and Stomach Disturbances in People With Binge Eating Disorder
Binge Eating DisorderObesity1 moreThis study will determine whether the disturbances in cholecystokinin release and gastric emptying that occur in people with binge eating disorder are similar to those that occur in people with bulimia nervosa.
Examining Self-tracking Behaviors in a Mobile Intervention for Binge Eating and Weight Management...
ObesityBinge EatingThe purpose of this study is to understand users' experiences and interests completing self-tracking in a mobile intervention for binge eating and weight management.
Applying Novel Technologies and Methods to Self-Regulation: Behavior Change Tools for Smoking and...
SmokingBinge Eating1 moreThis study will evaluate the extent to which we can engage and manipulate putative targets within the self-regulation domain within and outside of laboratory settings in samples of smokers and overweight/obese individuals with binge eating disorder. This is the fourth phase of a study that aims to identify putative mechanisms of behavior change to develop an overarching "ontology" of self-regulatory processes.
