Efficacy Study of Adding Chemotherapy to Radiotherapy for Treating Bladder Cancer.
Transitional Cell Carcinoma of Urinary BladderThe purpose of this study is to define the optimal management of localised transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the urinary bladder. The main objective is to evaluate whether chemoradiation is superior to radiotherapy alone.
Intravesical Gemcitabine Instillation Followed by Transurethral Resection for the Treatment of Patients...
Superficial Bladder CancerThe purpose of this study is to determine whether neoadjuvant intravesical Gemcitabine is enough active in patients with a solitary, low risk superficial bladder cancer. After diagnostic urethrocystoscopy or bladder sonography, all patients will receive intravesical gemcitabine once a week during 6 weeks. Two weeks after finishing antiblastic therapy, all patients will be submitted to a new cystoscopy, with TUR or cold biopsies of the site of the initial lesion.
HIPEC After Radical Cystectomy for High Risk Bladder Cancer
Invasive Bladder CancerThis is a non-randomized, non-blinded, pilot study administering hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy with Mitomycin-C in 10 men and women with muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma of the bladder undergoing radical cystectomy with pelvic lymph node dissection who have risk factors for tumor recurrence.
Determinants of Bladder Cancer Recurrence Study (The DETER Study)
Bladder CancerThe purpose of this study is to learn how different lifestyle factors, such as cigarette smoking and body weight, change after a diagnosis of bladder cancer, and how they influence who gets a bladder cancer recurrence and who does not.
Laser En Bloc Resection Of Bladder Tumor (HoLERBT) VS. Conventional Transurethral Resection Of Bladder...
Bladder CancerRandomized clinical trial aiming to assess Holmium Laser En Bloc Resection Of Bladder Tumor (HoLERBT) in comparison with Conventional Transurethral Resection Of Bladder Tumors (cTURBT) in tumor histopathological staging quality, detrusor muscle sampling in biopsy, completeness of tumor resection and peri procedure complication.
CVA21 and Pembrolizumab in NSCLC & Bladder Cancer (VLA-009 STORM/ KEYNOTE-200)
Non-small Cell Lung CancerBladder CancerThe purpose of this trial is to assess the ability of CVA21, either alone (Part A) or in combination with pembrolizumab (Part B), to reach and to replicate in existing tumors (while sparing normal cells) and to establish a safe multi-dose schedule of the virus for the treatment of solid tumors where enhanced expression of ICAM-1 and/ or DAF receptor occurs. This trial consists of 2 sequential parts: VLA-009 (Part A) conducted only in the UK and employed CVA21 as a monotherapy in NSCLC, castrate-resistant prostate cancer, melanoma and bladder cancer. VLA-009 (Part B) conducted in the US, AUS and UK employs CVA21 with pembrolizumab in NSCLC and bladder cancer. Both VLA-009A and VLA-009B are open-label, multi-center, ascending dose escalation (3+3 design) dose-finding and signal-seeking studies. Part A of the study is now complete and closed to enrolment. Part B is currently enrolling.
A Novel Multiplex ELISA Assay for Surveilling Patients With History of Bladder Cancer
Bladder CancerVoided urinary cytology (VUC) is the most widely used urine-based assay for detecting bladder cancer (BCa); however, it fails to detect approximately 50% of low-grade or early stage BCa when it is most curable. Furthermore, the detection rate of VUC for recurrent BCa is not much better. Because of this severe limitation, all patients who are under surveillance to monitor for recurrent BCa must undergo an invasive examination of the urinary bladder, where a miniature camera is inserted into the bladder and the bladder inspected (cystoscopy). We propose to improve the non-invasive detection of recurrent BCa by further validating a multiplex ELISA assay directed at a BCa-associated diagnostic signature in voided urine samples.
Pharmacological Enhancement for Nocturnal Incontinence in Orthotopic Bladder Substitute
IncontinenceUrinary Incontinence1 moreIn this randomised trial, we hypothesised that mebeverine could enhance nocturnal continenece of Orthotopic Bladder Substitute (OBS) patients by decreasing the frequency and reduce maximum amplitude of uninhibited contractions of OBS ileum, and consequently it would increase the OBS capacity
Neobladder Posterior Wall Suspended With Round Ligament of Uterus
FemaleBladder Cancer3 moreObjective: to evaluate if the Neobladder posterior wall suspended with round ligament of uterus could improve neobladder empty after radical cystectomy in female patients with bladder cancer compared to present standard neobladder
Intravesical Chemotherapy Treatment of Superficial Bladder Cancer
Bladder NeoplasmsThis is a phase II study where chemotherapy (gemcitabine) is given into the urinary bladder.
