Coagulation Disorders After Aneurysmatic Subarachnoid Haemorrhage
Aneurysmatic Subarachnoid HaemorrhageThe main purpose of this study is to analyse the on-going coagulation process after aSAH. For investigation the investigators use the rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM) which is a point-of-care test using a variety of activators to provide a targeted and a dynamic analysis of coagulation cascade. This is a prospective, observational clinical study done in 16 aSAH patients treated in Tampere University Hospital intensive care unit and 16 control patients (elective craniotomy due to non-ruptured intracranial aneurysm.
Coagulation Factors and Postpartum Hemorrhage
Postpartum HemorrhageObjective is to analyze a possible association of coagulation factors peripartal with the occurrence of postpartum hemorrhage.
Transfusion and Coagulation Management in Trauma Patients After the Introduction of a Coagulation...
HemorrhageComparison of the consumption of blood and coagulation products (packed red blood cells, fresh frozen plasma, platelet concentrates, fibrinogen, coagulation factor concentrates, coagulation factor XIII, activated factor VII, van Willebrand factor and antifibrinolytics) before and after the introduction of a designated trauma related transfusion and coagulation algorithm. The periods 2005-2007 (before) and 2012-2014 (after) the introduction are reviewed. Two level-1 trauma centers in Switzerland (Hospital Lucerne, University Hospital Zurich) are included in the study. Predicted probability of a massive transfusion by the trauma associated acute hemorrhage score (TASH)is correlated with the actual rate.
Study of Biological Determinants of Bleeding Postpartum
Postpartum HemorrhageAt the entry of the delivery room, a standard blood analysis will be performed (Blood count, PT, aPTT, Fibrinogen, and D-Dimer) for each women (if they are agree), according to the center's practices. The percentage of the immature platelets is a an additional parameter on the hemogram. The clinical assessments (recorded in medical records) and biological values will be used to determine if there is a correlation between these data and the occurrence of postpartum hemorrhage.
Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases Registry
StrokeAcute Stroke10 moreThis is a single institutional registry database for the patients with stroke and cerebrovascular diseases. Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death in the United States. Despite extensive research, most of the patients die or suffer from varying degree of post-stroke disabilities due to neurologic deficits. This registry aims to understand the disease and examine the disease dynamics in the local community.
Causes of Low Digestive Bleeding in Proctology
Lower Gastrointestinal TractColorectal Surgery1 moreThe various causes of bleeding Proctological are well known to gastroenterologists in clinical practice but their proportions have not, to our knowledge, been dedicated epidemiological studies. Investigators wanted to evaluate this data as part of a specialized consultation. Investigators have prospectively collected the causes of gastrointestinal bleeding down the patients seen two of us in specialized proctology center. A clinical examination including an inspection, palpation and feel, and a anoscopy (when possible) were made during the consultation. Local levies referred (s) histological and / or infection were also carried out if necessary. When she had not been made, a colonic exploration was offered to all patients over 45 years and / or when indicated by the pathological context. When there were several possible causes, the clinician holding one that seemed to be the main. Patients consulting within four months postoperatively a proctology action were not included. The study period extended from September 2013 to July 2014 inclusive. The collection of anonymous data.
Can Thrombelastography Predict Blood Loss in Patients With Hip Fractures
Hip FractureBlood LossHip fractures are associated with a large hidden blood loss. That is, the total blood loss associated with hip fracture surgery is much greater than that observed intra operatively. There is currently no viable method of identifying patients at risk of transfusion. The on admission haemoglobin level has been shown to be falsely reassuring . We are conducting a study of 200 consecutive hip fracture patients. Thrombelastography (TEG) is taken on admission. The results are blinded to clinicians. Results will be evaluated at the end of the study, comparing intra-operative and total blood losses with the TEG profile of the patient.
Epidemiology of Severe Peroperative Bleeding During Scheduled Surgery
SurgeryBlood LossPeroperative bleeding has been studied in specific populations exposed to bleeding (i.e. cardiac surgery, orthopedic surgery). Epidemiology of peroperative bleeding and transfusion remain poorly studied in the whole cohort of patients scheduled for surgery remain unknown. The investigators conducted a prospective study in order to examine the incidence, and risk factors associated with peroperative bleeding and transfusion.
MicroRNA Diagnostics in Subarachnoid Hemorrhage 2
Subarachnoid HemorrhageDelayed Cerebral Ischemia3 moreThe purpose of this study is to validate results from a related trial (NCT01791257) and to compare the profile of microRNA in blood from patients suffering subarachnoid hemorrhage with and without systemic complications.
Predictions of Bleeding During Liver Transplantation With Thromboelastometry
HemorrhagePatients with cirrhosis present complex coagulation defects. Conventional coagulation tests (INR, platelets count) can not predict bleeding or blood product requirements during liver transplantation. Thromboelastometry (TEM)analyser measures the viscoelastic of the whole blood coagulation generation and lysis. TEM results are available more rapidly than conventional tests and give additional information regarding coagulation strengh, platelet function, and fibrinolysis.
