A 12 Week Safety And Efficacy Study Of Sitaxentan Sodium In Japanese Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension...
HypertensionPulmonaryThe safety and efficacy at 100 mg once daily for oral dose of sitaxentan sodium were demonstrated in the STRIDE clinical trial program. Sitaxentan sodium was approved in the EU, Canada and Australia. In this study, the safety and efficacy after administrations of sitaxentan sodium at a dose of 100 mg alone or in combination with another medication will be investigated in Japanese PAH patients.

Safety Study of Latanoprost Slow Release Insert
Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG)Ocular Hypertension (OHT)This study is a phase 1, open-label, dose-escalation, safety and tolerability study, which will be conducted at one study site. This study will include 3 cohorts. Each cohort will have approximately 5 subjects. Subjects will not be randomized into the study. The first cohort will receive low dose drug insert, second cohort will receive 2 low dose drug inserts thus achieving twice the drug levels compared to cohort I and third cohort will receive high dose drug insert.

Clinical Pharmacology of Aliskiren in Combination With Cyclosporine in Cardiac Transplantation
HypertensionCardiac TransplantationThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the blood pressure medication, aliskiren, in heart transplant patients. In terms of safety, the investigators will evaluate the blood levels of aliskiren and determine if aliskiren alters the blood levels of the anti-rejection medication, cyclosporine, in these patients. In terms of efficacy, the investigators will determine how well aliskiren lowers blood pressure in heart transplant patients.

TC-5214 as Augmentation Therapy in Patients With Refractory Hypertension
Refractory HypertensionA pilot study of subjects with refractory hypertension (on 3 concomitant agents with SBP > 140 mmHg and a DBP > 90 mmHg) randomized in a double-blind fashion to receive 4 single escalating doses of study medication in clinic.

Safety and Efficacy Study of Angiotensin Therapeutic Vaccine in Subjects With Mild to Moderate Hypertension...
HypertensionCardiovascular DiseaseAngiotensin Therapeutic Vaccine (ATV), which contains the novel adjuvant, CoVaccine HT™ , is being developed for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), a major risk factor for serious diseases such as heart attacks and strokes. Many patients with high blood pressure fail to take their medicines as prescribed because they generally feel well, which often results in poor control of the condition. As a result, it is estimated that about 70% patients with hypertension do not have their blood pressure adequately controlled despite advances in the treatment of high blood pressure. The main aim of this study is to find out if an injection of ATV given in the arm once every 3 weeks on 3 occasions results in lowering overall blood pressure measurements throughout the day. The other aims are to find out if ATV is safe and to see how well it is tolerated

Dose-ranging Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness and Tolerability of MK0736 in Patients With Type...
Type 2 Diabetes MellitusHypertensionThe study will assess the efficacy and tolerability of MK0736 in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension who are on ongoing therapy with Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme or Angiotensin Receptor Blocker. After a 3 to 5 week pre-randomization phase, patients will be randomized to either MK0736 (3 doses), placebo, or hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ). The study will also include a 3 week, posttreatment follow-up period.
