Efficacy of Balanced Nutrition Meal Replacement Along With a Caloric Restriction on Body Weight...
ObesityDiet Modification1 moreThe present study was designed to evaluate the impact of a nutritionally balanced conventional meal replacement diet with caloric restriction (intervention for 8 weeks) in Taiwanese obese subjects. Various parameters like anthropometric (body weight, body fat, waist circumference), lipid profile (TC, LDL-c and TG), cardiovascular risk factors, glycemic and oxidative markers as well as renal and hepatic markers were evaluated.
Study to Evaluate Effects of a Weight Loss Program in Different Formats on Healthy Adults
Overweight and ObesityWeight LossThe objective of this study was to determine changes in body weight and related outcomes achievable over a 16-week period in response to three different commercially available weight loss programs (Nutrisystem) providing pre-packed, portion controlled foods and beverages, each compared to a self-directed diet, in apparently healthy overweight and obese men and women.
Evaluation of Brain Activity Changes After a Behavior Change Weight Loss Intervention
ObesityBehavior2 moreThe aim of this study is to compare brain changes in individuals with overweight or obesity enrolled in either the Noom Healthy Weight program or a matched control. The study objectives (primary and secondary) are to measure brain change reported as ERP and EEG data over a 16-week timeframe. Additionally, we will explore changes in the default mode network (resting-state asymmetry in EEG measurements), changes in executive functioning, quality of life, mood, and salivary markers as they relate to EEG data.
Infant Peer Interaction Study by Examining the Effect of a 6-week Music Enhancement Program
Body Weight ChangesThe overall purpose of this study is to better understand food reinforcement in infants. The results of this study should help to further our understanding of how individuals relate to food and how an enriched environment can change this behavior.
Attitudes Toward Food During a Weight Loss Intervention
ObesityWeight Loss5 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate whether the Noom Healthy Weight Program, a digital behavior change weight loss intervention, creates a positive relationship with food, compared to a waitlist control group.
Effects of Compelled Body Weight Shift Technique for Rehabilitation of Individuals With Chronic...
Chronic StrokeStroke is one of the major cause of lifelong disability if not treated on time, the investigator's technique knows as Compelled Body Weight Shift Technique (CBWS) was utilized and administered to chronic stroke population and results were figured out using gait parameters and Tinetti POMA scale.
A Virtual-reality Based Approach to Improve Behavioral Weight Management Outcomes
Weight LossA pilot randomized trial was done to test the feasibility integrating virtual reality (VR) into standard behavioral weight loss treatment.
Investigating the Early Markers of Weight Loss
Weight LossAppetitive Behavior1 moreThe study will include 30 women randomized in two distinct groups: G1: Slow weight loss and G2: Rapid weight loss . The total duration of the program will be different for each group, being over 20 and 10 weeks for G1 and G2, respectively, in attempt to match the groups on amount of weight loss (approximately 20 pounds per subject). Participants who meet the inclusion criteria will be randomized to rapid or slow weight loss groups. The energy deprivation of the rapid and slow weight loss will be in -1000 kcal/day and -500 kcal/day, respectively. Calculated based on the baseline resting energy expenditure (REE; determined by indirect calorimetry) and their physical activity level measured for one week. The diet macronutrient composition will be personalized for each participant based on the results of 2-day energy intake at preliminary session, measured with food items selected from a validated food menu. Individuals will be instructed to maintain the level of energy restriction and macronutrient composition during the diet period, however they will be able to do food exchanges, based on the Canadian Diabetes Association system. It will be measured participant's body weight, body compositions, appetite sensations, resting energy expenditure, energy intake, palatability, olfactory performance, food reward, food reinforcement and impulsivity. Participants will have 7 sessions in total: 1 preliminary, baseline, 7 days of intervention, 3 follow ups and final assessment.
Remote Weight Management Program for Obese Women
Weight LossThe purpose of the research project is to see if counseling on the Mediterranean diet combined with motivational interviewing via a telemedicine platform (Zoom) while using smart technology ("smart" scales and tape) improves participants' weight loss, reduces waist circumference, and improves satisfaction with their care.
Weight Loss Prior Mamma Reduction - A Pilot Study
Weight LossHypertrophyDue to a higher risk of complications, obese and overweight patients with macromastia are in Denmark prohibited mammoplasty , as BMI must be within normal range, i.e. BMI < 25 kg/m2. The study is a pilot study with a diet intervention group and no control group. The intervention is a 12 week low energy diet pre-operative weight loss program investigating if this will result in weight loss making the overweight and obese patients eligible for breast reduction surgery i.e. BMI < 25.
