A Tiered Management System of Osteoporosis in China

OsteoporosisOsteopenia

There is a management gap in China. This study aims to establish a tiered management system of osteoporosis for Chinese patients. Including: Developing a national hierarchical health management network platform for middle-aged and elderly osteoporosis patients. With this platform, the data of medical records, laboratory results would be shared between medical institutions. And primary hospitals can refer the patients to the nearest medical centre for advanced auxiliary examinations and diagnosis. Establishing a muti-level hospital collaboration, doctor-patient interaction management model of osteoporosis. To explore and establish a early warning and screening pathways for osteoporosis.

A Study of the Crestal Bone Loss Around Bone Level Versus Tissue Level Implants in Non-compliant...

PeriimplantitisMarginal Bone Loss

The goal is to evaluate, after 5 to 8 years, the marginal bone loss around tissue-level implants and bone-level implants in patients who have not followed the maintenance program. Medical records of patients who have been implanted for at least 5 to 8 years and who have been lost during this period are collected from three private clinics in Beirut,Lebanon and the Saint Joseph University Health Center in Beirut,Lebanon. On an individual sheet, the patient as well as the implants data will be noted. Patients will be called for reevaluation after 5-8 years. After signing the informed consent, the measurements by a PCP-15 probe of the plaque index (FMPS) and the bleeding index (FMBS) as well as the height of the keratinized tissue are indicated on the sheet. If the smoking status has changed, this will be mentioned too. The marginal bone loss will be measured on the X-rays taken immediately after the implant placement, after 1 year of loading and then at the reevaluation session.

Role of NLRP3 Inflammasone and Hypoxia in the Severity of Osteoporosis in Patients With Bronchiectasis...

Bronchiectasis AdultOsteoporosis1 more

The objectives of this research grant are to determine the association of hypoxia with the severity of osteoporosis in the patients with bronchiectasis and whether the mechanism of inflammation is triggered by inflammasones, which makes it more prone to osteoporosis in patients with bronchiectasis.

Diagnosis of Osteogenesis Imperfecta in Children

Bone DiseaseMetabolic

The study will be conducted at Assiut university children hospital and it will include patients with history of repeated fractures due to mild or irrelevant trauma. Diagnosis will be established by biochemical tests, bone survey to exclude secondary causes followed by Dual Energy absorbiometry scan to detect bone density of selected cases then confirm our diagnosis by detection of gene mutations of Osteogenesis imperfecta during one and half year duration with starting zoledronic acid therapy during this duration.

Use Quantitative Microradiography to Predict the Periprosthetic Bone Loss in Distal Femur After...

Periprosthetic Bone Loss in Total Knee Replacement

The investigators hypothesized that the microarchitecture of bone influence the degree of periprosthetic bone loss after total knee arthroplasty surgery. The investigators collected the bone fragment at the distal femur while performing total knee replacement and take quantitative radiography analysis . Before and after the surgery(6 month ,12 month) , the investigators check the BMD at identical location of the distal femur by using dual energy absorptiometry. The investigators will use linear regression to evaluate the relationship between the microarchitecture and the degree of bone loss.
