Effect of Citric Acid Demineralization on Autogenous Bone Blocks Consolidation in Humans
Alveolar Bone AtrophyBone ResorptionThis study evaluates the effect of citric acid demineralization in autogenous bone blocks consolidation. Half of participants will receive citric acid treatment at the bone block and recipient site. Other half will receive no demineralization treatment.
Sinus Augmentation in the Posterior Maxillary Region: a Case Report of 0mm Bone Height.
Bone ResorptionSinus floor elevation (SFA) and GBR have been applied in the placement of dental implants in longstanding edentate posterior maxilla region. However, the number of study on the efficacy of these procedure on areas with 0mm bone height is limited. This case study aims to compare two cases of 0mm bone height in the posterior maxillae region with different handling procedure. In this article, two female patients in their 40s underwent maxillary sinus augmentation (sinus lifting) due to longstanding missing posterior maxillary molars with the bone of which area had resorbed entirely, leaving 0mm bone height. One patient went through conventional sinus augmentation while the other had a two-stage - sinus - lift procedure. Researchers compared the bone - volume induced between the two procedures.
Using Platelet Rich Plasma in Reducing Alveolar Bone Resorption During Rapid Maxillary Expansion...
Bone ResorptionThe purpose of this study is to determine if the injection of Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is effective in reducing alveolar bone loss that happens after each rapid maxillary expansion (RME) on the buccal aspect of the posterior teeth. 16 patients with a skeletal maxillary constriction aged between 10-16 years old will get into orthodontic treatment to widen the maxilla using Hyrax appliance. An amount of patient blood will be withdrawn and centrifuged to get PRP. Then the PRP will be injected in one half of each patient mouth in a split-mouth design, beneath the buccal periosteal of the first molars and first premolars, the halves will be chosen randomly. High resolution CBCT images will be taken before and after orthodontic treatment to analyze buccal bone thickness and height changes.
Sodium Alendronate in Non Surgical Periodontal Therapy
PeriodontitisBone ResorptionIn the past few years, studies have evaluated the effect of systemic use of sodium alendronate, especially in the treatment of structural bone defects caused by periodontal diseases. This study evaluated the effects of non-surgical periodontal treatment associated with the topical application of 1% sodium alendronate on clinical and topographical parameters. Chronic periodontitis patients were recruited for the present study and were monitored at 3 and 6 months after baseline examinations. A placebo gel was used as control.
Autogenous Ramus Bone Block Harvesting With Piezosurgery
Alveolar Bone ResorptionThe aim of this randomized prospective clinical trial was to evaluate the outcome of bone block harvesting from the retromolar region using the Conventional and Piezosurgery Method. The study was planned on 19 patients (13F,6M) on 31 donor sites. In patients with bilateral bone harvesting, the donor site and the surgical method to be used were determined by the randomization protocol, while in patients with bone harvesting from a single site, the donor site was determined by considering parameters such as proximity to the operation site and distance to the inferior alveolar nerve. Clinical parameters such as operation time, pain, swelling, trismus, nerve damage were evaluated.
Guided Bone Regeneration Using Bovine-derived Xenograft in Combination With or Without Injectable...
Bone ResorptionThe aim of the study was to compare the change in augmentation thickness after guided bone regeneration (GBR) using bovine-derived xenograft in combination with or without injectable platelet-rich fibrin (i-PRF). This randomized-controlled clinical trial was conducted on patients with horizontal bone deficiency in the posterior regions of mandible. After implant placement, GBR procedures were randomly performed using i-PRF enriched bovine-derived xenograft (test group) or bovine derived xenograft alone (control group). Cone-beam computed tomography was taken at the implant sites immediately, and 6 months after surgery for assess the change in augmentation thickness as the primary outcome of the study. The secondary outcomes included marginal bone level and implant survival rate.
Comparison of Short Implant Assisted Mandibular Overdenture Designs
Mandibular Bone ResorptionThe aim of the study was to clinically and radiographically evaluate and compare the use of unsplinted and splinted short implants with ball abutments to support mandibular overdentures in cases with severe mandibular ridge resorption.
Radiographic and Histological Evaluation of Regenerated Bone After Grafting Using Allograft Shell...
Alveolar Bone ResorptionThe clinical cases in the present study described the khoury shell technique using an allograft plate and autogenous chips, for horizontal reconstruction of the anterior alveolar ridge in the esthetic zone. Without need to use autogenous bone graft techniques that are characterized by more aggressive surgery.
Evaluation, the Histomorphometric Study of Nanocrystalline Hydroxyapatite (Nano Bone) Wif Alendronate...
Bone ResorptionTwenty patients referring to periodontics department of Boroujerd Azad university of dentistry after obtaining consent to participate in teh research project, which TEMPhas more TEMPthan 20 teeth, are over 18 years old and require socket preservation surgery to tooth extraction for teh periodontal problem, caries or Fractures were selected.

Alveolar Bone LossAlveolar Bone Resorptionthe aim of the present study was to evaluate the dimensional variation and osseointegration of mini-implants at augmented sinus with the antrostomy left unprotected or protected with a collagen membrane.
