Inflammatory Bowel Disease Related Joint Manifestations

IBDJoint Diseases

The main purpose of this research is to identify incidence of jiunt manifestations by its both types axial and periphral in IBD patients, its types , relation to IBD activity, lines of treatment using and how they are effective in prevention and in treatment of these joint manifestations.

Sexual Function and Quality of Life Among Patients Suffering From Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Sexual Function DisturbancesInflammatory Bowel Diseases

Sexual dysfunction [SD] is a significant health burden characterized by a disturbance in sexual desire and psychophysiological changes in the sexual response cycle, resulting in marked distress and interpersonal difficulty (4). As known, both SD and depression are interrelated, so, depression may be an important determinant of sexual functioning in patients with IBD(5).

Efficacy and Safety of Lactulose for Bowel Preparation in Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Disease...

IBD

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of lactulose in bowel preparation in IBD patients. The main question it aims to answer is: Does lactulose have better efficacy, safety and tolerability than 3L-PEG? Participants will be divided into PEG group or Lactulose group at a 1:1 ratio by a random number method. Each patient will get a leaflet provided by hospital introducing bowel preparation methods and diet restriction before bowel preparation. They will have bowel preparation with different drugs according to group. The grade of bowel cleansing will be assessed through the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale (BBPS). The tolerability, satisfaction and safety of the two bowel preparation methods will be assessed through the patients self-administered questionnaires.

Oral Health-related Quality of Life (OHRQoL) in Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

Inflammatory Bowel DiseasesPeriodontitis2 more

IBD patients have a higher risk of oral diseases that affect the oral mucosa, the teeth and the tooth supporting tissues. These conditions are often associated with pain, bleeding and impaired masticatory function which may have an impact on the oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL). However, few studies have investigated the self-evaluation of oral quality of life in IBD patients. The rare existing studies focus on very specific patients (elderly patients, patients with stomas) and do not use validated tools for the evaluation of OHRQoL. We also lack data on the effect of treatments such as immunosuppressants and type of IBD on OHRQoL. The aim of this study is to (i) compare oral quality of life in a cohort of IBD patients versus non-IBD patients and (ii) explore potential factors that influence oral quality of life in IBD

Autoimmune Protocol Diet and Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Crohn DiseaseUlcerative Colitis1 more

There is limited data to guide the use of dietary change in the management of IBD, and it can prove challenging to implement in the setting of altered anatomy, comorbid conditions, and patient compliance. Therefore there is an important need to study diet as a therapy for IBD. Here, the investigators propose a novel study to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of the autoimmune protocol (AIP) diet in patients with active Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC).

Fecal Microbiota Transplantation in Pediatric Patients

Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD)Crohn's Disease (CD)1 more

A disturbance in the diversity of gut bacterial composition could be linked to several immune mediated diseases including inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). IBD can be classified into Crohn's Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC). Both these diseases occur from abnormal immune reaction to resident gut bacteria. The process of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) where fecal bacteria from a healthy individual is transferred into a recipient, has recently received attention as an alternative therapy for individuals affected with these life-altering diseases. In this study, the investigators will perform fecal transplantation on the subjects meeting inclusion criteria, to determine the efficacy and safety of this therapy in subjects with IBD (CD and UC) who are not responding to first line therapy, and are in a flare.

Supplementation of Vitamin D3 in Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and Hypovitaminosis D...

Crohn's Disease (CD)Ulcerative Colitis (UC)

This study aims to evaluate the effect of vitamin D3 supplementation on disease activity and quality of life in IBD patients deficient in vitamin D, and also help determine the optimal dose of vitamin D3 for them. Hypothesis: Supplementation of vitamin D3 in IBD patients with hypovitaminosis D can improve their quality of life and decrease IBD activity.

Treating IBD With Inulin

Inflammatory Bowel Diseases

The purpose of this study is to see how the prebiotic inulin changes the gut bacteria (microbiome) of children and young adults with IBD and determine if this dietary intervention can help reduce disease activity.
