PoNS Clinical Experience Program (TBI)
Mild to Moderate Traumatic Brain Injury- Brief Summary: Prospective, cohort, open-label study. The cohort consists of people who have a chronic balance dysfunction due to a mild to moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI). All participants will participate in a 14-week PoNS Treatment protocol - a combination of symptom specific physical exercises and repeated use of the PoNS device. Subjects who meet the initial screening entrance criteria will be scheduled for a baseline assessment to evaluate balance and gait. Subjects will then begin the PoNS Treatment program and re-perform some assessments at 2, 5 and 14 weeks evaluating their functional improvements.

Enhancing Cognitive and Neurobehavioral Functions After Repetitive Traumatic Brain Injuries (rTBI)...
Traumatic Brain InjuryConcussion1 moreThe purpose of this study is to compare different combinations of cognitive training in retired professional football players and military veterans with a history of repeated concussions and persistent symptoms of impaired memory, concentration, attention, focus, or thinking.
DANA Compared to MACE in Evaluation of Suspected Acute Concussion
Brain ConcussionTraumatic Brain InjuryThe purpose of this study is to compare the sensitivity of the DANA Rapid exam with the MACE cognitive score. The primary hypothesis is that the DANA Rapid exam will be more sensitive for detecting impaired cognitive performance than the MACE cognitive score in the setting of a clinical diagnosis of concussion at the point of injury in the combat setting. A secondary purpose of this study is to examine a serial performance on the DANA Rapid exam in those subjects diagnosed with a concussion. The secondary hypothesis is that the DANA Rapid exam will show improvements in performance during the recovery period after concussion.
A Multi-Center Study of Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) for Hematoma Detection
TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury)The purposes of this study are: To determine the sensitivity and specificity of the Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) measurements for identifying intracranial hematomas due to trauma. To determine the reproducibility of the Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) measurements with different operators and at different centers

Traumatic Brain InjuryPost-Concussion Syndrome2 moreThis research is being done to understand the role of different recovery methods in healing time after athletic or sports related concussion.
Lithium Augmentation for Hyperarousal Symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: Pilot Study
Combat Posttraumatic Stess DisorderMild Traumatic Brain InjuryThe purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of adding lithium carbonate (lithium) to treatment for combat-related post traumatic stress disorder in combat veterans. The goal of this study is to establish that lithium is a practical and tolerable treatment option for veterans with combat posttraumatic stress disorder.
Exercise Training in Depressed Traumatic Brain Injury Survivors
DepressionTraumatic Brain InjuryThe purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of successfully delivering moderate intensity aerobic exercise training to depressed traumatic brain injury subjects between one and three years after injury.
Cognitive Rehabilitation and Brain Activity of Attention-Control Impairment in TBI
Traumatic Brain InjuryThe purpose of this research study is to develop a method to improve thinking difficulties in individuals who have experienced a traumatic brain injury and report experiencing difficulties in attention and concentration. This study aims to understand how cognitive rehabilitation of attention difficulties affects brain activity.
