Study of Patupilone in Patients With Brain Metastasis From Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Brain MetastasisNon-small Cell Lung Cancer

The study objective is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of patupilone with respect to early progression and response of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) metastatic to the brain, who have progressed after chemotherapy, surgery and/or radiation.

Lapatinib for Brain Metastases In ErbB2-Positive Breast Cancer

NeoplasmsBreast

Determine how safe and effective lapatinib is when used to treat patients with ErbB2 overexpressing breast cancer that has spread to the brain and is still progressing there even after radiation treatment using WBRT (whole brain radiotherapy) or SRS (stereotactic radiosurgery) to the brain. Lapatinib is an oral drug that will be taken every day. Tests for safety and efficacy will be performed every 4 weeks or 8 weeks (depending on the test) during the course of the study.

Phase I Trial of Arsenic Trioxide and Stereotactic Radiotherapy for Recurrent Malignant Glioma

Brain Cancer

To investigate the safety of delivering arsenic trioxide (ATO) in combination with stereotactic radiotherapy in recurrent malignant glioma by performing an open label, Phase I dose escalation trial. Results from this study will provide a basis for further study of ATO combined with radiation therapy as a radiosensitizer for malignant brain tumors in future Phase II studies.

Serial CT Scans in Fractionated Stereotactic Radiotherapy

Brain Tumor

This study aims at providing a quantitative evaluation of the accuracy of two different fixation systems, where one system is also evaluated with two different set-ups.

Hypertonic Saline 75% vs Mannitol 20%

Brain TumorTumor6 more

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of Hypertonic Saline 7.5% vs Mannitol 20% on brain bulk (using a 4 point scale), intracranial pressure (subdural catheter)and the changes on serum and urinary Na, K and Osmolarity during elective craniotomy for brain tumor resection.

Temozolomide in Treating Patients With Brain Metastases

Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of temozolomide in treating patients who have brain metastases.

Imatinib Mesylate in Treating Patients With Recurrent Brain Tumor

Adult Anaplastic OligodendrogliomaAdult Mixed Glioma2 more

This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of imatinib mesylate and to see how well it works in treating patients with a recurrent brain tumor that has not responded to previous surgery and radiation therapy. Imatinib mesylate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for tumor cell growth.

Suramin in Treating Patients With Recurrent Primary Brain Tumors

Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of suramin in treating patients with recurrent primary brain tumors following radiation therapy.

Radiation Therapy With or Without Radiosurgery in Treating Patients With Brain Metastases

Metastatic Cancer

RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. It is not yet known whether giving radiation therapy during surgery is more effective than standard radiation therapy in treating brain metastases. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of radiation therapy with or without radiosurgery in treating patients with brain metastases that cannot be removed during surgery.

Prognosis Prediction System of Patients With Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases Based on...

Coronary Artery DiseaseArrhythmias11 more

The etiology and specific pathogenesis of many cardiovascular diseases such as coronary atherosclerosis, cardiomyopathy, atrial fibrillation, and stroke are still unclear. Improving diagnosis and treatment, clarifying the pathogenesis, and providing scientific basis for the prevention and treatment are hot research topics in the study of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. This study intends to collect clinical data and biological specimen data of patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and use multi-omics technology to deeply understand the pathogenic mechanisms of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and provide new ideas for specific and individualized treatment of patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, to construct early predictive prognostic models and provide a basis for effective treatment of clinical practice in patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
