A Pharmacogenomics Study for Breast Cancer Patients Undergoing Adjuvant Chemotherapy With Doxorubicin...
Breast CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. Giving chemotherapy after surgery may kill any tumor cells that remain after surgery. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, and/or paclitaxel work in treating women with nonmetastatic breast cancer.
Effects of Chemotherapy on the Brain in Women With Newly Diagnosed Early-Stage Breast Cancer
Breast CancerChemotherapeutic Agent Toxicity5 moreRATIONALE: Gathering information over time from laboratory tests, imaging scans, and assessment tests may help doctors learn more about the side effects of chemotherapy and plan the best treatment. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the effects of chemotherapy on the brain in women with newly diagnosed early-stage breast cancer.
Monitoring Response After The First Chemotherapy Cycle After Neoadjuvant Breast Cancer Therapy
Invasive Ductal CarcinomaLobular Breast Carcinoma1 moreA PET scan drop less than 20% in SUVs or below a certain absolute SUV value after the first course of neoadjuvant chemotherapy can predict pathological response, and could in the future lead to an early surgical intervention.
Hormonal Effects on Tc-99m Sestamibi Uptake in the Breast
Breast CancerThis study is to examine the effects of menstrual cycle, hormone therapy, and the use of tamoxifen on Tc-99m sestamibi uptake.
Evaluate the Relationship of Bone Remodeling Markers for Skeletal Complications in Metastatic Breast...
Metastatic Breast Cancerto evaluate whether bone marker can provide the valuable predictor of skeletal complications and whether regular assessing of NTX(N-telopeptide of type I collagen) and osteocalcin can be useful in advanced breast cancer patients with bone metastasis receiving zoledronic acid.
Tamoxifen Pharmacogenetics and Clinical Effects
Breast CancerThe purpose of this research is to try to identify which women who take tamoxifen are likely to suffer from hot flashes or are more likely to have other side effects or benefits from the drug. The researchers will do so by determining whether there are mutations that normally occur in human DNA that might influence the way individuals respond to medications.
Psychosocial Study on Breast Cancer Risk Assessment
Breast CancerThe proposed pilot study is part of the design and development process of a final questionnaire that aims to gain insight on factors that influences acceptance and adoption of breast cancer risk assessment in women. Feedback on the questionnaire will help identify potential issues of clarity, comprehensibility, and reliability; and to identify possible biases that often accompany a designed questionnaire. Information gained from the large-scale study will provide directions for the development of educational strategies in the TIBS research program that could accompany increases in public awareness of risk factors, the availability of risk assessment tools and preventive lifestyle.
A Pilot Study of Bone Mineral Density in Postmenopausal Women After Treatment for Breast Cancer...
Postmenopausal Bone LossBreast CancerThe main purpose of this study is to see what levels of Bone Mineral Density post-menopausal women with breast cancer have, and to see if the level of Bone Mineral Density changes during a women's treatment after her surgery. This trial studies changes in Bone Mineral Density and markers of of bone activity in post-menopausal women receiving treatment for early stage breast cancer.
Women's Healthy Eating and Living Study
Breast CancerRATIONALE: Dietary fats, fruits, vegetables, and fiber may affect the risk of breast cancer recurrence. PURPOSE: Randomized clinical trial to determine the effectiveness of a diet rich in vegetables, fruit, and fiber and low in fat in women who have been treated for stage I, stage II, or stage III breast cancer.
Atezolizumab With Nab-paclitaxel for Patients With Triple-negative Stage IV Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer MetastaticThe study will evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of the association of Atezolizumab plus nabPaclitaxel in a real life context, in order to document any differences both in terms of activity and safety with respect to the knowledge of the association reported in the literature
