Reader Study for Image Quality of Cone Beam Breast CT System

Breast Neoplasms

Koning Breast CT (KBCT) was approved by FDA PMA. The X-ray detector originally used in Koning Breast CT was PaxScan 4030CB. Recently, Koning Breast CT uses a modified X-ray detector PaxScan 4030MCT. The modified detector is essentially identical to the previous model except a different detector housing which allows a narrower dead-space between the active area and the top of the housing. The benefit of the modified detector is that it allows Koning to modify the patient exam table, achieving a flatter surface in the center. The flatter surface will increase patient comfort and improve workflow. Meanwhile, flatter surface may also affect patient positioning and the coverage of the breast. The adequacy of the overall image quality with the new table/detector should be verified by radiologists.

Evaluation of the High-resolution, Contrast Enhanced Low-dose Breast-CT

BI-RADS 4BI-RADS 52 more

The aim of this study is the clinical establishment of a native and contrast-enhanced computer tomography of the breast. The early detection of breast cancer is still a great challenge. Even though the implementation of the digital mammography combined with the mandatory screening-programs lead to significant improvements, sensitivity and specificity of these examinations need to be clearly classified as improvable. Generally, it is stated that the necessary transit from 2-D projected images to 3-D tomography will be crucially advantageous as magnetic resonance imaging has already shown. Similar or even major advantages can be expected by new approaches regarding CT with very high local resolution, better than 100µm in 3D and lower dose, under 5 Milligray (mGy), as demanded for a screening. A device that meets these demands and is also applicable for dynamic scans after intravenous administration of a contrast agent, has been developed with the support by the European Union (EU), German Research Foundation (DFG) and Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Publications on technical and experimental results are already available. An evaluation in the clinical use is missing yet. The primary aim of this study is to evaluate systematically the performance of the native and dynamic, contrast-enhanced CT of the breast.

Incidence and Prognostic Significance of HER-2 Status Discordance Between Primary Breast Cancer...

Breast Cancer

About a half of HER2-negative breast cancer show HER2-low expression that can be targeted by new antibody-drug conjugates. The main aim of this study is to describe the evolution of HER2 expression from primary BC to relapse by including HER2-low category in both primary and recurrent BC samples. Patients with matched primary and relapse BC samples were included. 1299 patients were included.

99mTc-DARPinG3-based HER2 Expression Molecular Imaging in HER2-positive Breast Cancer During Chemo+Targeted...

HER2-positive Breast CancerFemale

An open-label, single center study with 99mTc-DARPinG3 SPECT and biopsies of primary tumour in HER2-positive Breast Cancer in dynamic of chemo+targeted therapy, where the primary endpoint of the study is to find out the correlation between the HER2 expression measured by 99mTc-DARPin G3 SPECT and standard histopathology from primary tumor in dynamic of chemo+targeted therapy.

Evaluating Breast Cancer Patients Modesty During Radiotherapy. A Multicentric Study

Breast Cancer

Patients affected by breast cancer undergo radiotherapy with bare chest and can therefore live the moments in which they undress in front of the radiation therapy technologists (RTTs) in charge of their treatment as an extremely embarrassing one. Furthermore, for some of these patients the relationship with their bodies has indeed changed since surgery (i.e. mutilations, scars), particularly for specific age or socio-economic groups. In this context, sub-standard care in maintaining modesty during breast cancer radiotherapy has been reported in literature, even if poorly studied. Aim of this multicentric observational study is to describe how modesty is perceived by patients undergoing radiotherapy for breast cancer.

The Role of Genetic Factors in the Development of Breast Cancer in the Kazakh Population

Breast Cancer

This is a GWAS study that aims to identify possible candidate genes associate to breast cancer by exploring single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in a group of breast cancer, in the Kazakh population. The investigators hypothesize that the careful phenotyping of the subject sand matching with increase the power to find SNP significantly associate with breast cancer
