The Effect of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Technique for Children With Chronic...
Chronic Respiratory DiseaseCystic Fibrosis1 moreCystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis are the most seen problems in children with chronic pulmonary diseases. İt is a genetic, chronic system disease that reduces life expectancy, and life quality as well. Chronic lung disease , malnutrition, and reduced activity, caused by disease lead to postural disorders. Muscle force, endurance, activity of Daily living are adversely affected. İn the treatment pulmonary rehabilitation are using. Airway clearance technique, pulmonary exercises, upper extremity ergometer, dumbbells, elastic bands, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation technique are applying. Resistance training using elastic bands has become an increasingly common intervention aiming to improve function by increasing muscular strength. İn one study indicated that muscle strength can be improved through three dimensional spiral large scale resistive exercises using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation. İn the literature there isn't any research , uses elastic bands with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation for the upper extremity and evaluating pulmonary functions, posture, quality of life, muscle force. The aim of this study is giving exercises programme with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and elastic bands and to evaluate pulmonary muscle force, pulmonary functions, posture, activity of daily living, quality of life, functional capacity. And to evaluate the effect of treatment programme on these parameters. The subjects were divided in two groups. An experimental group three times a week for 12 weeks will perform proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation exercises with elastic bands, and pulmonary exercises. The control group will apply only pulmonary exercises at home programme.
Home Airway Clearance in Patients With Bronchiectasis (Home-Care Bronchiectasis)
Bronchiectasis AdultBronchiectasis is a chronic multiple etiologies pulmonary disease characterized by permanent dilatation of the caliber of the bronchial tree territory with an alteration of mucociliary clearance. This alteration causes mucus retention and leads to infections and chronic bronchial inflammation. Respiratory physiotherapy is one of the cornerstones of the management of these patients, particularly to facilitate bronchial drainage. In patients with abundant bronchial secretions, it is recommended to carry out airway clearance sessions daily or several times a day, which represents a very significant burden of care. Moreover, access to respiratory physiotherapy care isn't always easy for patients due to geographical, time, or professional availability limitations. In addition, few professionals are trained in France for this specific care dedicated to chronic lung disease. Finally with this kind of remote formation and follow up, it may be more suitable for this at-risk patient population in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic situation (limitation of physical contact). SIMEOX® (Physio-Assist, Aix en Provence, France) is an innovative medical device (CE medical mark) for bronchial tree drainage. The use of this device in autonomy by the patient requires however a specific initial training of a few sessions (3-5 sessions). Tele-physiotherapy could allow remote training of patients in the use of SIMEOX®. This SIMEOX® device used autonomously at home, could provide patients with a practical and efficient bronchial clearance technique. The overall objective of this pilot study is to evaluate the use of SIMEOX® at home after education in its use by telecare for bronchial drainage in patients with bronchiectasis (non-cystic Fibrosis Bronchiectasis) and who have difficulty accessing usual respiratory physiotherapy sessions.
Expiratory Muscle Training in Bronchiectasis
BronchiectasisReduced exercise tolerance is commonly reported in patients with bronchiectasis. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of expiratory muscle training (EMT) and sham EMT (control) on exercise capacity, respiratory function and respiratory muscle strength, cough strength and health related quality of life in patients with bronchiectasis.
Safety and Potential Efficacy of Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Non-Cystic Fibrosis Bronchiectasis...
BronchiectasisTo demonstrate the safety of bone marrow-derived allogeneic human Mesenchymal Stem Cells (hMSCs) in patients with bronchiectasis receiving standard of care therapy, and to explore treatment efficacy
Long-term Airway Clearance Therapy in Non-cystic Fibrosis Bronchiectasis
BronchiectasisThe main aim is to analyze whether the routine use of chest physiotherapy in non cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFB) improves the cough severity and the quality of life in this population. In addition, the secondary end-points include incidences of exacerbations, changes in lung function, exercise capacity, airways inflammation, sputum analysis and eventual adverse events.
Inhaled Molgramostim (rhGM-CSF) in Healthy Adult Subjects
Pulmonary Alveolar ProteinosisBronchiectasis2 moreThis is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, single ascending (SAD), and multiple ascending dose (MAD) study conducted at a single clinical site within the UK. Healthy male and female subjects (on non-child bearing potential) will be enrolled to investigate single inhaled doses of molgramostim at 3 dose levels (Part 1) and multiple inhaled doses at 2 dose levels (Part 2). The 2 doses in the multiple ascending dose regimens will be administered once daily (QD) for 6 consecutive days. The clinical indication for inhaled molgramostim is the treatment of respiratory diseases such as aPAP, bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis. The Clinical trial will involve 42 healthy participants. The trial is expected to last approximately 4 months.
Phase 3 Study With Ciprofloxacin Dispersion for Inhalation in Non-CF Bronchiectasis (ORBIT-3)
Non Cystic Fibrosis BronchiectasisThis study (ARD-3150-1201, ORBIT-3) will evaluate the safety and efficacy of inhaled Pulmaquin (ciprofloxacin dispersion for inhalation) compared to inhaled placebo in subjects who have a confirmed diagnosis of non-cystic fibrosis (non-CF) bronchiectasis with a history of pulmonary exacerbations and chronic P. aeruginosa infections.
Efficacy and Safety Study of a Percussion Device to Mobilise Sputum From Respiratory Passage
Chronic BronchiectasisChronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)A Malaysian company by name Formedic Technologies SDN BHD has devised a hand held machine which is supposed to mimic the chest percussion performed by professional physiotherapist to mobilize sputum through the respiratory passage. The aim of this study is to compare the effectiveness and safety of this mechanical percussion device in the treatment of airway clearance with conventional chest physiotherapy carried out by qualified physiotherapists in patients suffering from bronchiectasis or Chronic obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD).
Safety and Effectiveness of AZLI (an Inhaled Antibiotic) in Adults With Non-Cystic Fibrosis Bronchiectasis...
BronchiectasisThe AIR-BX2 study enrolled people with non-cystic fibrosis (non-CF) bronchiectasis and gram-negative airway infection. Participants received two 28-day courses of either Aztreonam for Inhalation Solution (AZLI) or placebo taken 3 times a day. Each course was followed by a 28-day off-drug period. Following the two blinded courses, all participants received a 28-day course of open-label AZLI then were followed for an additional 56 days.
