Description and Evaluation of Eating Disorders in Elite Athletes (TCA SHN)

Eating DisordersAnorexia Nervosa2 more

Athletes in particular elite athletes have obsessional food and body concerns, in bond with a worship of the performance more and more invading, which lead to clinical and subclinical eating disorders. These eating disorders differ according to the disciplines and are difficult to diagnose in athletes because there are insufficiently described. Our aim at estimating the frequency of eating disorders in athletes and describing eating disorders by means of somatic, dietetic and psychological evaluations.

Cephalic Phase in Anorexia Nervosa,Bulimia Nervosa and Obese Binge Eaters

Anorexia NervosaBulimia Nervosa

The objective of this trial is to examine the cephalic phase insulin response (CPIR) and pancreatic polypeptide (PP) release as indicators of the cephalic phase occurrence and magnitude to palatable food stimulus in anorectic and bulimic subgroups as compared to healthy controls

Dopamine Release to Food Reward in Bulimia Nervosa

Bulimia NervosaFood Reward

This study will assess the role of dopamine responses to food reward in Bulimia Nervosa patients, by performing simultaneous Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Magnetic Resonance (MR) scanning. The dopamine response will be measured before and after treatment, and will be compared to healthy controls.

Imaging the Dopamine Systems in Bulimia Nervosa

Eating Disorders

This study will use positron emission tomography imaging to investigate the dopamine systems in people with bulimia nervosa.

Association Between Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Bulimia Nervosa in Outpatients...

Bulimia NervosaEating Disorders1 more

To understand whether a relationship exists between eating disorders and ADHD, we seek to clarify the prevalence of ADHD in individuals with eating disorders. To this end, we will estimate the prevalence of ADHD, and other neuropsychiatric disorders, in outpatients with history of an eating disorder diagnosis. Secondarily, we will identify patterns of cognitive deficits in outpatients with history of an eating disorder diagnosis. We will also examine whether ADHD in this population is associated with functional and familial correlates associated with ADHD.

Motivating Factors That Play a Role in Bulimia Nervosa

Bulimia NervosaEating Disorders

This study will evaluate whether people with bulimia nervosa will binge eat in a structured laboratory setting and display behavioral patterns similar to those of individuals who are dependent on drugs.

An fMRI Study of Self-regulation in Adolescents With Bulimia Nervosa

Eating Disorders

The aim of this project is to use both multimodal MRI and behavioral measures to investigate how changes in frontostriatal neural systems contribute to the development and persistence of Bulimia Nervosa (BN). Findings from this study will have wide-ranging importance for our understanding of the development and treatment of BN.

Neural Bases of Multiple Forms of Self-regulatory Control in Bulimia Nervosa

Bulimia Nervosa

The purpose of this study is to investigate areas of the brain responsible for self-regulation in adult women who have never had an eating disorder with women who have bulimia nervosa. More specifically, investigators are interested in changes in brain activation (e.g., changes in blood flow and oxygen use) when inhibiting responses and regulating emotions. Data collection will rely on a technology called functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).

Binge-Eating Genetics Initiative (BEGIN) - Dynamical Systems Approach

Binge-Eating DisorderBulimia Nervosa

The Binge Eating Genetics Initiative (BEGIN) is an observational study where individuals with binge-eating disorder (BED) or bulimia nervosa (BN) complete assessments about eating disorder history, current disordered eating behavior, and mood. Participants also provide active data on binge eating, purging, nutrition, and cognitions using Recovery Record on the Apple Watch. Passive sensor data are collected via native applications over a 30-day period in 1000 individuals with BED or BN. Investigators will combine longitudinal passive (Apple Watch) and active (Recovery Record) data to predict when patients are at high risk of binge eating or purging. Results will enable the deployment of real-time, in-the-moment, personalized signaling of impending binge or purge episodes that will interrupt automatic behaviors and empower patients to exert control over binge eating and purging by engaging in therapeutic alternatives.

Studies of Neuroendocrine and Energy Metabolism in Patients With Eating Disorders

Anorexia NervosaBulimia Nervosa

This study aims to investigate neuroendocrine, autonomic functioning, and energy metabolism in patients with eating disorder and their relationships with psychopathology of eating disorders (eating patterns, depression, and personality) in these patients.
