Short Term Intensified Chemo-immunotherapy in HIV-positive Patients With Burkitt Lymphoma

HIVBurkitt's Lymphoma

This is a multicenter,open-label trial to evaluate activity and safety of the investigational intensive in HIV+ patients with Burkitt's lymphoma. Experimental treatment consists of an induction phase followed by a consolidation or intensified phase according to tumor response. Until recently, the immuno-compromised state of patients with concomitant HIV/AIDS and BL was thought to limit the ability to administer intensive chemotherapeutic regimens due to infection rate. However, the advent of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) and evidence in diffuse large B-cell lymphomas that HIV-positive patients can tolerate standard chemotherapeutic regimens with improved outcomes have led investigators to treat HIV-positive patients with the same intensive chemotherapy regimens used to treat immuno-competent patients. Data suggest that these current approaches, along with supportive care, may result in improved patient outcomes, similar to those in the immuno-competent patient population.

Donor Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cell Transplant in Treating Patients With Hematologic Malignancies...

Acute Myeloid Leukemia With Multilineage Dysplasia Following Myelodysplastic SyndromeAdult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Remission75 more

RATIONALE: Giving chemotherapy before a donor umbilical cord blood transplant (UCBT) helps stop the growth of cancer and abnormal cells and helps stop the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. When the stem cells from an unrelated donor, that do not exactly match the patient's blood, are infused into the patient they may help the patient's bone marrow make stem cells, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can make an immune response against the body's normal cells. Giving antithymocyte globulin before transplant and cyclosporine and mycophenolate mofetil after transplant may stop this from happening. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well donor umbilical cord blood stem cell transplant works in treating patients with hematologic malignancies.

Bone Marrow Transplant From Partially Matched Donors and Nonmyeloablative Conditioning for Blood...

Precursor B-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia-LymphomaLeukemia10 more

Bone marrow transplants are one treatment option for people with leukemia or lymphoma. Family members or unrelated donors with a similar type of bone marrow usually donate their bone marrow to the transplant patients. This study will evaluate the effectiveness of a new type of bone marrow transplant-one that uses lower doses of chemotherapy and bone marrow donated from family members with only partially matched bone marrow-in people with leukemia or lymphoma.

Vorinostat and Bortezomib in Treating Young Patients With Refractory or Recurrent Solid Tumors,...

Childhood Burkitt LymphomaChildhood Central Nervous System Choriocarcinoma34 more

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of vorinostat when given together with bortezomib in treating young patients with refractory or recurrent solid tumors, including CNS tumors and lymphoma. Vorinostat and bortezomib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor.

Vorinostat, Rituximab, Ifosfamide, Carboplatin, and Etoposide in Treating Patients With Relapsed...

Adult Nasal Type Extranodal NK/T-cell LymphomaAnaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma35 more

This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of vorinostat when given together with rituximab, ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide and to see how well they work in treating patients with relapsed or refractory lymphoma or previously untreated T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma or mantle cell lymphoma. Vorinostat may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Monoclonal antibodies, such as rituximab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Others find cancer cells and help kill them or carry cancer-killing substances to them. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving vorinostat together with rituximab and combination chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells

Clofarabine and Cyclophosphamide Combination in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Patients

Burkitt's LymphomaLymphoblastic Lymphoma1 more

The goal of this clinical research study is to find the highest tolerable dose of the drugs clofarabine and cyclophosphamide that can be given together in the treatment of relapsed or refractory ALL. The safety of the combination treatment will also be studied. Objectives: Phase I: To establish toxicities and safety of the proposed combination To establish the dose-limiting toxicity (DLT) and maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of the combination to proceed with the phase II part of the study Phase II: To establish the efficacy (complete and overall response) of the proposed combination. To analyze pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) properties of clofarabine as well as the impact on DNA repair of leukemic blasts with the proposed combination.

B-cell Chronic Lymphocytic LeukemiaExtranodal Marginal Zone B-cell Lymphoma of Mucosa-associated Lymphoid Tissue16 more

Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as CCI-779, work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. This phase II trial is studying how well CCI-779 works in treating patients with recurrent or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma or chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

The purpose of this clinical trial is to prove the efficacy of the following new regimen treatment: Administration of anti-CD20 (Rituximab) combined with chemotherapy. Combined treatment with high doses of methotrexate and high doses of cytarabine with conventional cytostatics (block C) Prophylactic administration of G-CSF after all chemotherapy cycles local irradiation after 6 cycle if CNS was affected or if there are residual tumour
