Trisenox® in Women With Metastatic Endometrial Cancer

Endometrial Carcinoma

The primary purpose of this study is to see whether women who have already received chemotherapy for their endometrial cancer, or who have disease that has spread outside of the uterus, will respond to the drug arsenic trioxide (Trisenox®) as judged by shrinkage of their tumor.

Longitudinal Evaluation of Women Undergoing Pelvic Surgery for the Treatment of Gynecologic Cancer...

Cervical CarcinomaEndometrial Carcinoma3 more

The study investigates whether certain characteristics of gynecological cancer can help researchers predict how well a patient recovers from surgery to remove the lower colon, rectum, and bladder, and create openings through which urine and stool are passed out of the body (pelvic exenteration). Comparing the types of surgery completed and procedures used may help researchers to determine which are most effective and safe in patients with a history of gynecologic cancer.

Physical Activity After Endometrial Cancer

Endometrial Cancer

Researchers propose to apply Social Cognitive Theory to improve understanding of the mechanisms of physical activity adherence for endometrial cancer survivors participating in a physical activity intervention. The specific aims of the study are: To test a Social Cognitive Theory-based model of physical activity adoption among sedentary endometrial cancer survivors receiving an intervention to increase physical activity. The model includes hypotheses about the effect of self-efficacy and outcome expectations on physical activity adherence, the effects of four sources of efficacy information (mastery experience, verbal persuasion, modeling, and physiological feedback) on self-efficacy and subsequent exercise adherence, and the influence of physical activity outcomes on subsequent self-efficacy, outcome expectations, and physical activity. To elucidate the influence on self-efficacy of cardiorespiratory fitness and somatic sensations while engaging in physical activity. To determine whether the received dose of an intervention based on Social Cognitive Theory is related to physical activity adherence. To test the effects of adherence to physical activity on endometrial cancer survivors' quality of life and stress as assessed by self-report and salivary cortisol. To test the feasibility of a web-based maintenance intervention for women who have completed the phone counseling portion of the study.

Factors Influencing Cascade Testing Among Women With Hereditary Gynecological Cancers and Their...

Breast CarcinomaDeleterious CDH1 Gene Mutation7 more

This trial collects information about factors that affect communication of genetic test results, decision-making, and access to genetic testing in women with hereditary gynecological cancers. Studying individuals who are positive for a genetic mutation and immediate biological family members (including a parent, full-sibling, or child) may help identify cancer genes and other persons at risk.

Clinical Characters of the Diagnosis and Treatment of Gynecological Malignant Tumors in China :...

Gynecologic CancerOvarian Cancer2 more

Gynecological tumors are serious threats to women's health. Ovarian Cancer (OC), uterine and cervical malignancies (c-uc) are common gynecological malignancies, which are featured by high morbidity and mortality, limited late-stage efficacy, easy recurrence and drug resistance. Real World Study (RWS) refers to the study based on a large sample size (covering representative subjects), according to the actual condition, carry out evaluation for a long time, and pay attention to the outcome of treatment, meaningful to further evaluate external validity and safety of the intervention measures. this study is devoted to the provide the real world evidence for the clinical treatment of gynecological malignant tumors in China.

Tislelizumab for the Treatment of Recurrent Mismatch Repair Deficient Endometrial Cancer

Lynch SyndromeRecurrent Endometrial Carcinoma5 more

This clinical trial evaluates the effect of tislelizumab in treating patients with mismatch repair deficient endometrial cancer that has come back (recurrent). Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) mismatch repair (MMR) is a system for recognizing and repairing DNA errors and damage. Mismatch repair deficient tumors (dMMR) may have difficulty repairing DNA mutations during replication that may affect tumor's response to therapy. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as tislelizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving tislelizumab may help treat patients with mismatch repair deficient endometrial cancer.

Effect of Pelvic Radiotherapy on the Intestinal Microbiome and Metabolome

Urinary Bladder NeoplasmsUterine Cervical Neoplasms1 more

Eight in ten patients will develop bowel problems during radiotherapy, eg diarrhoea, pain and incontinence, half will develop difficult long-term bowel problems. It is not known why some people get bowel problems and others do not and there is no test to predict who will develop bowel problems following their treatment. There is a link between the changes in the number and type of gut bacteria (the microbiome) in some bowel conditions and it is possible to test for these different bacteria in a simple stool sample using genetic testing. Also gut bacteria produce different gases in the stool called "volatile organic compounds" (VOCs), which can be measured in stool samples. Specific VOC patterns have been seen in other bowel conditions and small studies suggesting that there are specific VOC and gut bacteria patterns in the stool of those undergoing pelvic radiotherapy which may help to identify people who will get difficult bowel problems. Diet can change the microbiome/VOCs so diet change could improve bowel symptoms after radiotherapy. The investigators would like to test stool samples of patients with womb, cervix or bladder cancer having pelvic radiotherapy to see if there are differences in the number/type of gut bacteria and VOCs between those who get severe bowel symptoms compared to those with mild bowel symptoms. They also want to see whether these differences in VOCs or gut bacteria can tell who will develop severe bowel symptoms during or after radiotherapy and determine the effect of diet. The first step is to run the study on a small scale to confirm that a larger study would work. This will make sure the investigators can recruit and consent people safely and will test the best ways of measuring bowels symptoms using several questionnaire options. They will collect the information needed to work out how many people would be needed in a large trial to fully test the theory. Ultimately, the investigators would like to use differences in the number/type of gut bacteria and VOCs to find ways to better prevent and treat bowel problems after pelvic radiotherapy.

Endometrial Cancer

The primary purpose of this study is to investigate whether administration of ixabepilone results in superior outcome as assessed by overall survival compared with that achieved with standard chemotherapy (paclitaxel or doxorubicin) in women with advanced endometrial cancer that has progressed following first-line chemotherapy.
