Axitinib (AG-013736) For the Treatment of Metastatic Renal Cell Cancer

Kidney Neoplasms

The study is designed to demonstrate that axitinib (AG-013736) is superior to sorafenib in delaying tumor progression in patients with metastatic renal cell cancer.

Cryotherapy and GM-CSF in Treating Patients With Lung Metastases or Primary Lung Cancer

Kidney CancerLung Cancer3 more

RATIONALE: Cryotherapy kills tumor cells by freezing them. Giving an injection of GM-CSF before cryotherapy and inhaling GM-CSF after cryotherapy may interfere with the growth of tumor cells and shrink the tumor. Giving cryotherapy together with GM-CSF may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving cryotherapy together with GM-CSF works in treating patients with lung metastases or primary lung cancer.

Lenalidomide in Treating Patients With Advanced or Unresectable Kidney Cancer

Kidney Cancer

RATIONALE: Lenalidomide may stop the growth of kidney cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well lenalidomide works in treating patients with advanced or unresectable kidney cancer.

Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Metastatic Kidney Cancer

Kidney Cancer

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one chemotherapy drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining doxorubicin and ifosfamide in treating patients who have metastatic kidney cancer.

Irinotecan Plus Gemcitabine in Treating Patients With Unresectable or Metastatic Solid Tumors

Bladder CancerBreast Cancer4 more

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combining irinotecan and gemcitabine in treating patients who have unresectable or metastatic solid tumors.

Interleukin-2 in Treating Patients With Metastatic Kidney Cancer

Kidney Cancer

RATIONALE: Interleukin-2 may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill cancer cells. It is not yet known which regimen of interleukin-2 is most effective for kidney cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of different regimens of interleukin-2 in treating patients who have metastatic kidney cancer.

EPO906 Therapy in Patients With Advanced Kidney Cancer

Kidney Neoplasms

This study will examine whether the investigational drug EPO906, given by intravenous infusion (IV directly into the vein), is effective in shrinking tumors and preventing the growth of cells that cause kidney cancer.

Chemotherapy With or Without Surgery, Radiation Therapy, or Stem Cell Transplantation in Treating...

Kidney Cancer

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining chemotherapy with peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known which therapy regimen is most effective for treating patients with kidney tumors. PURPOSE: Phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of chemotherapy with or without radiation therapy, surgery, and/or peripheral stem cell or bone marrow transplantation in treating young patients with kidney tumors.

A Phase I Study of Continuous Intravenous Infusion of PSC 833 and Vinblastine in Patients With Metastatic...

Kidney NeoplasmsNeoplasm Metastasis

Bolus PSC 833 is administered on Day 1 simultaneously with initiation of 24 hour continuous infusion of PSC 833, followed by another continuous infusion lasting an additional 6 days. To ensure the safety of a 7 day infusion of PSC 833, one patient is treated for 5 days and a second for 6 days, before the first cohort is enrolled. Vinblastine is administered in escalating doses on days 2-5. At least 3 patients are entered at each dose level. The MTD will be defined as the dose immediately below that at which 2 patients experience dose limiting toxicity. Treatment continues every 28 days.
