Kidney CancerRATIONALE: Sunitinib malate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving sunitinib malate before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed. Giving sunitinib malate after surgery may kill any tumor cells that remain after surgery. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving sunitinib malate before and after surgery works in treating patients with metastatic kidney cancer.

Monoclonal antibodies, such as cetuximab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Giving bortezomib together with cetuximab may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of bortezomib when given together with cetuximab in treating patients with advanced solid tumors.

Biological therapies, such as aldesleukin, may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop tumor cells from growing. Giving bevacizumab together with aldesleukin may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving bevacizumab together with aldesleukin works in treating patients with metastatic clear cell carcinoma of the kidney.

Aldesleukin may help the laboratory-treated white blood cells stay in the body longer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as zoledronic acid, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving cellular adoptive immunotherapy together with interleukin-2 and zoledronic acid may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects of giving cellular adoptive immunotherapy together with aldesleukin and zoledronic acid and to see how well it works in treating patients with stage IV kidney cancer and lung metastases.
