This prospective, randomized controlled trial compares traditional air insufflation with water immersion and water exchange in patients undergoing colonoscopy using on demand sedation. We test the hypothesis that compared with air insufflation the proportion of patients who require on demand sedation during colonoscopy will be significantly lowered by water immersion and water exchange, and water exchange will produce the greatest reduction

To investigate whether extended lymphadenectomy (CME) in laparoscopic colectomy could improve disease-free survival in patients with right colon cancer, compared with standard D2 radical operation.

During the last few years, the laparoscopic right colectomy with intracorporeal ileocolic anastomosis (IIA) has been proposed as an alternative to laparoscopic right colectomy with extracorporeal ileocolic anastomosis (EIA) for the treatment of right colon tumors. However, the level of evidence coming from the currently available literature is low, based on the results of a few small and heterogeneous retrospective non-randomized studies. A randomised controlled trial is warranted to challenge these two procedures. The aim of this randomized controlled trial is to assess the outcomes after IIA or EIA after laparoscopic right colectomy for right colon tumors.

Monocentric pilot prospective randomized study with 3 cohorts: abdominal drainage vs postoperative antibioticoprophylaxis vs none in patients undergoing laparoscopic right hemicolectomy with introcorporeal anastomosis for right colon cancer

The aim of this study is to compare the Surgical outcomes after laparoscopic intracorporeal versus extracorporeal anastomosis for right and left hemicolectomies in management of colonic cancers .

Purpose: To assess the impact of taxes, warnings, and a combination of taxes and warnings on US adults' decisions to purchase products that contain red meat in an online grocery store. Procedures (methods): Participants will be recruited from Prime Panels (an online panel research company). Following online consent, participants will be assigned to one of four trial arms: 1) Control (no warning and no tax), 2) Warnings (all products that contain red meat have a health warning and environmental warning), 3) Tax (30% tax on products that contain red meat), and 4) Combined warning and tax (all products that contain red meat will have the two warnings and a 30% tax). Then, participant will enter an online grocery store reflecting their assigned arm. The participant will be instructed to complete a shopping task in the online grocery store. After completing the shopping task, participants will be redirected to an online survey and answer a series of questions about the shopping task, labels (excluding tax and control groups), and taxes (excluding warning and control groups). Questions will also include standard demographic and health related variables.

When performing a resection of the right colon due to cancer one aims not only to remove the tumor bearing bowel segment, but also lymph nodes draining the affected area. These lymph nodes are located along the arteries supplying the right colon. Through using a preoperative CT scan which can map these arteries very precisely one can ligate these vessels closer to their origin and thus remove more lymph nodes which may potentially harbor cancer cells. This study aims to compare patients operated more radically through use of preoperative CT which maps the mentioned arteries with patients operated in the standard way.

The objective of this study is to investigate whether the use of Human Peritoneal Membrane (HPM) in a temporary loop ileostomy is beneficial to patients. Benefit will be defined, for purposes of this study, as a decrease in adhesions resulting in decreased operative time during ileostomy closure, with promotion of peritoneal remodeling.
