Predictors of Relapse of Ovarian, Peritoneal, and Fallopian Tube Cancers

Fallopian Tube CancerPeritoneal Neoplasms1 more

This study will develop a blood test that can be used to predict a relapse of ovarian, peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer. The type of testing is called proteomics, or the study of proteins in living cells. The test will identify certain proteins that might represent a pattern, or "fingerprint," indicating increased risk of disease relapse. Women with Stage III or IV epithelial ovarian cancer, primary peritoneal cancer, or fallopian tube cancer that is in remission may be eligible for this study. Candidates are screened with a medical history and physical examination, blood tests, review of pathology report from surgery, and computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of the abdomen and pelvis (and chest if the cancer spread to the chest). Participants have a clinic visit every 3 months for a physical examination (including a pelvic examination), blood draw for routine and research tests, and review of how they have been feeling. Every 6 months they have CT scans of the abdomen, pelvis, and possibly the chest. When a patient has been in remission for 4 years, blood draws are done every 6 months and CT scans are done yearly. Patients whose cancer returns (based on a CA-125 blood test, CT scans, or physical examination) end their participation in the study. Patients with an abnormal CT scan or physical examination may be asked to undergo a tumor biopsy (surgical removal of a piece of tumor tissue) for research purposes.

Pharmacogenomics of Paclitaxel in Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian NeoplasmsFallopian Tube Neoplasms

This study will try to determine whether or not certain genes are responsible for the huge variation in toxicity and effect observed between patients treated with paclitaxel (chemotherapeutic drug). Specifically we will study this in patients with ovarian cancer who receive paclitaxel/carboplatin chemotherapy after primary surgery.

Genomic BRCA and Extensive ovArian Cancer Testing

Epithelial Ovarian CancerPeritoneal Cancer1 more

This is a prospective observational French multicenter cohort in patients with ovarian and/or primitive peritoneal and/or fallopian tubes carcinoma, histologically confirmed, with an advanced stage at diagnosis (stage III to IV FIGO 2014). The objective is to constitute a clinico-biological database that allows to correlate clinical and progressive features of ovarian cancer patients based on tumor genomics and molecular detected abnormalities.

Determinants of Age-Related Treatment Effectiveness in Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian CancerFallopian Tube Cancer4 more

While significant progress has been made in the treatment and prognosis of ovarian cancer, this progress has mostly shown benefits for younger women. This study aims to understand two things: How body composition (the amount of muscle and water versus fat in in the body) affects the dose and side effects of chemotherapy; and the biological reason for the worse prognosis with aging. To get a good view of these effects, investigators are asking the help of both younger and older women for this project.

LCC-CARIS-01: Molecular Profiling in Gynaecological Cancer

Epithelial Ovarian CancerPeritoneal Cancer2 more

This is a pilot feasibility study assessing the use of a commercial molecular profiling service in the UK's National Health Service (NHS). The impact of knowledge of a patient's molecular profile, and the time it takes to generate this knowledge, will be assessed by analysis of changes in physicians' treatment decisions prior to and following generation of a patient's molecular profile. Implications for benefit with therapies recommended by the profile will also be assessed and the following treatment outcomes collected: best response (based on routine clinical, radiological and biochemical assessment), progression free survival ratio (post Caris Molecular profiling versus prior treatment) and overall survival.

PET Imaging of Ovarian Carcinoma With 18F-FSPG

Stage IIIA Fallopian Tube CancerStage IIIA Ovarian Cancer10 more

This clinical trial studies positron emission tomography (PET) imaging utilizing 18F-FSPG [(S)-4-(3-[18F]Fluoropropyl)-L-glutamic acid], a glutamic acid derivative, to image patients with ovarian cancer before undergoing surgery or transplant. Diagnostic procedures, such as 18F-FSPG PET, may help find and diagnose ovarian cancer and find out how far the disease has spread.

Cervical CancerEndometrial Cancer5 more

RATIONALE: Learning about the effect of nutritional supplements on quality of life in patients receiving chemotherapy for cancer may help doctors plan the best treatment. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying nutritional supplements to see how well they work in improving quality of life during first-line chemotherapy in patients with metastatic gynecologic cancer.

Web-Based Coping and Communication Skills Intervention in Improving Psychological Adaptation in...

Endometrial CarcinomaStage 0 Fallopian Tube Cancer AJCC v754 more

This pilot clinical trial studies how well web-based coping and communication skills intervention works in improving psychological adaptation in patients with gynecological cancer. Web-based intervention, such as coping and communication skills intervention, may help doctors to get a better understanding of ways to help gynecological cancer patients cope with their cancer experience.

OVArian Cancer Non-Interventional Study - OVATAR

OvarianPeritoneal2 more

This is a multicentre, non-interventional, prospective study to be carried out in representative hospitals in order to assess 1st line treatment management and diagnostic approaches applied to ovarian, peritoneal and fallopian tube cancer management in Russia and assess patients' characteristics and the occurrence of BRCA (Breast Cancer gene) mutations among Russian women with serous and endometrioid ovarian, peritoneal and fallopian tube cancer. No additional procedures besides those already used in the routine clinical practice will be applied to the patients. Treatment assignment will be done according to the current practice.
