EMD 525797 in Colorectal and Ovarian Cancer Patients With Liver Metastases

Colorectal and Ovarian Cancer Patients With Liver Metastases

This study is intended to test an experimental drug called EMD 525797 (Abituzumab). This drug is not yet approved for sale and has only been tested in a small number of people to date (prior to this study starting another research study was carried out involving 37 healthy volunteers receiving the study drug). Until more is known about this study drug, it can only be used in research studies. This research study is planned to answer important questions about how the study drug is tolerated and how it may work in subjects with ovarian and colorectal cancer which has spread to the liver (i.e. metastatic cancer). The Sponsor (Merck KGaA) of this study is developing the study drug.

CP-547,632 in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Persistent Ovarian Cancer, Primary Peritoneal...

Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer1 more

RATIONALE: CP-547,632 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth and by stopping blood flow to the tumor. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well CP-547,632 works in treating patients with recurrent or persistent ovarian cancer, primary peritoneal cancer, or fallopian tube cancer.

Surgery and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Children With Extracranial Germ Cell Tumors

Childhood Embryonal TumorChildhood Extracranial Germ Cell Tumor16 more

This phase III trial is studying surgery followed by combination chemotherapy to see how well it works in treating children with germ cell tumors that are not located in the head. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug, and giving them after surgery, may kill any remaining tumor cells following surgery. It is not yet known whether combination chemotherapy is effective in decreasing the recurrence of childhood germ cell tumors.

UCN-01 and Topotecan in Treating Patients With Recurrent, Persistent, or Progressive Advanced Ovarian...

Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer1 more

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as topotecan, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. UCN-01 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. Combining UCN-01 with topotecan may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining UCN-01 with topotecan in treating patients who have recurrent, persistent, or progressive advanced ovarian epithelial, primary peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer.

Radiolabeled Monoclonal Antibody in Treating Patients With Advanced Ovarian Epithelial Cancer

Ovarian Cancer

RATIONALE: Radiolabeled monoclonal antibodies can locate tumor cells and deliver radioactive tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Giving radiolabeled monoclonal antibody directly into the abdominal cavity may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of giving radiolabeled monoclonal antibody therapy directly into the abdominal cavity in treating patients who have advanced ovarian epithelial cancer.

A Study of the Safety and Effects of EMD 72000 in Subjects With Recurrent Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian Cancer

EMD 72000 is an experimental, biological drug. Studies in animals indicate that EMD 72000 blocks a factor found on the surface of many cancer cells. The factor is called epidermal growth factor receptor or EGFR. One type of cancer which frequently contains EGFR is ovarian cancer. This study will test the safety and effects of EMD 72000 in subjects with EGFR-positive recurrent ovarian cancer following standard treatment that has failed.
