Study of Adding Cetuximab to Chemotherapy for the Treatment of Advanced and/or Recurrent Cervical...
Cervical CancerThis study aims to assess the activity of a combination of cetuximab (weekly) with carboplatin + paclitaxel (every three weeks) comparing it to chemotherapy alone in terms of event-free survival (EFS).
Clinician-Collected Versus Patient-Collected Cervical Pap Smears
Cervical CancerThe purpose of this study is to see if it is possible to conduct a full study to determine whether the SoloPap™ cervical cell sample collection kit is as good as a clinician performed Pap test in detecting precancerous cervical lesions in females. Begin to determine patient attitudes regarding ease of use and discomfort using SoloPap.
Mother - Daughter Initiative (MDI) in Cervical Cancer Prevention
Cervical CancerThe Mother-Daughter Initiative (MDI) will test the feasibility and acceptability of a strategy to deliver comprehensive cervical cancer prevention services in Thailand and the Philippines by integrating the HPV vaccine for girls ages 9-13 into already successful screening and treatment programs for mothers.
Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy and Radical Surgery in Stage IIB Cervical Cancer
Cervical Carcinoma Stage IIBNeoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) and radical surgery (RS) may have a possible better outcome to concurrent chemoirradiation (CCRT) in stage IIB cervical cancer. We try to verify such a hypothesis in terms of survival and treatment related morbidity.
Using CHWs and HPV Home Tests to Increase Cervical Cancer Screening in Minority Populations
Cervical CancerCaribbean immigrants (both Hispanics and Blacks from Haiti) are less likely to be screened for cervical cancer than the general population. One promising approach is outreach strategies that employ Community Health Workers (CHWs). Yet even in well structured CHW programs, many women remain unscreened. In our NCI Community Networks sponsored project, we are testing an approach that combines CHWs with self sampling for the human papilloma virus (HPV) as a screening strategy among such hard to reach populations.
Research for Papillomavirus as the Examination of Orientation in the Organized Screening of the...
Research Human Papillomavirus ( HPV) by Vaginal Auto-takings ( APV) and Urinary TestAuto-takings by APU and vaginal APV during the consultations for FCU in the department of gynecology-obstetrics (Group 1) according to an instructions for use proposed to the inclusive women, with consent; the same proposal, APU and APV, is made for other consultations requiring a screening on the CHRU (Group 2: dermatology, endocrinology, ambulatory surgery, inner medicine, pneumology, oncology). Auto-takings transmitted in the laboratory of the CHRU of Brest for test HPV by quantitative real-time PCR. Results transmitted to the women and to the doctors of consultation. In case of positive test (15 %), the patients are directed to a gynecologist. Confrontation with the cytological data when available (Group 1) .
Impact of the Different Information Channels in Reducing Anxiety in Participants of Cervical Cancer...
Uterine Cervical NeoplasmsEarly Detection of Cancer2 moreWhen participating in population-based screening for cervical cancer, women experience great anxiety during the weeks of waiting since they learn that they have an altered screening result until the colposcopy is performed. In this study we want to verify how anxiety decreases when the information is improved and an audiovisual support is added when giving it.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in Improving Well-Being in Patients With Stage III-IV Cancer and...
Malignant Female Reproductive System NeoplasmMalignant Hepatobiliary Neoplasm37 moreThis pilot clinical trial studies how well acceptance and commitment therapy works in improving well-being in patients with stage III-IV cancer and their partners. Learning how to accept negative thoughts and feelings and how to live in the present without worrying about the future or past may improve coping skills in patients with stage III-IV cancer and their partners.
Messages For Your Health: A Cancer Screening Prevention Study
Cervical CancerThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of text messages as a means for improving adherence to cervical cancer screening.
HPV in Sentinel Lymph Nodes
Cervical CancerSentinel Lymph Node1 moreThis study examines sentinel lymph node tissue from early stage cervical cancer patients treated with radical hysterectomy and removal of pelvic sentinel lymph nodes (SLN). SLNs are tested for the presence of human papilloma virus (HPV), and results are compared to the HPV-type found in the patients cervical tissue. We hereby examine whether pathologic status of SLNs in patients with early-stage cervical cancer correlates to the HPV status in the SLNs. By means of an up to 5-years follow-up period, we furthermore examine whether cervical cancer recurrence correlates to the histopathologic status of the SLNs and/or the SLN HPV status. This will contribute to the clarification on whether HPV status of the SLNs plays a crucial role for predicting LN metastasis of cervical cancer and also, whether the HPV status in SLNs may have a clinical value as a prognostic factor for disease recurrence in cervical cancer patients and perhaps even a better clinical value than SLN mapping.
