CRP on Radiobiological and Clinical Studies on Viral-Induced Cancer's Response to Radiotherapy
Cervix CancerThe purpose of this trial is to study clinical effects of two/four high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy applications and teletherapy with or without weekly cisplatin in cervix cancer.
Topotecan in Treating Women With Persistent or Recurrent Cervical Cancer
Cervical CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as topotecan, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well topotecan works in treating women with persistent or recurrent cervical cancer.
Concomitant Chemoradiation in Advanced Stage Carcinoma Cervix
Cancer of CervixA study to evaluate the efficacy of concomitant chemoradiation as compared to radiotherapy alone. Concomitant chemoradiation is not a new treatment modality for carcinoma cervix. Studies have shown improvement in survivals with chemoradiation, but majority of the patients was in early stages. Since this treatment modality has not been tested adequately in advanced stages in our setting, the present study is being undertaken. The study arm of chemoradiation has the potential to improve the survivals by 10%, but is associated with additional 5% risk of toxicities, which are treatable. In the study arm, apart form the standard radiotherapy treatment, you will receive weekly chemotherapy injections (Cisplatin) during external radiation therapy. The study arm is associated with additional 5% acute hematological and gastrointestinal toxicities, which are treatable with medications, blood transfusions, modifications in the ongoing treatment etc.
Oxaliplatin and Paclitaxel in Treating Patients With Locally Recurrent or Metastatic Cervical Cancer...
Cervical AdenocarcinomaCervical Adenosquamous Carcinoma4 morePhase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining oxaliplatin with paclitaxel in treating patients who have locally recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells.
Healing Touch and Relaxation Therapies in Cervical Cancer Patients
Cervix NeoplasmsThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of healing touch and relaxation therapy on cervical cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Paclitaxel in Treating Patients With Advanced, Refractory, or Recurrent Cervical or Vaginal Cancer...
Cervical CancerVaginal CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of paclitaxel in treating patients with advanced, refractory, or recurrent cervical or vaginal cancer.
Surgery and Vaccine Therapy in Treating Patients With Early Cervical Cancer
Cervical CancerRATIONALE: Vaccines made from human papillomavirus may make the body build an immune response to and kill cervical cancer cells. Combining vaccine therapy with surgery may be a more effective treatment for cervical cancer. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving vaccine therapy together with surgery works in treating patients with early cervical cancer.
Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Refractory Cervical Cancer
Cervical CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy with cisplatin and vinorelbine in treating patients with refractory or recurrent squamous cell cervical cancer that has not responded to local therapy.
Radiation Therapy and Cisplatin With or Without Amifostine for Patients With Stage IIIB or IVA Cervical...
Cervical CancerRadiation ToxicityRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. Drugs such as amifostine may protect normal cells from the side effects of radiation therapy. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of combining cisplatin and radiation therapy with or without amifostine in treating patients who have stage IIIB or stage IVA cancer of the cervix.
EF5 Prior to Surgery or Biopsy in Patients With Breast, Prostate, or Cervical Cancer or High Grade...
Breast CancerCervical Cancer3 moreRATIONALE: EF5 may detect the presence of oxygen in tumor cells and help plan effective cancer treatment. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of EF5 in detecting the presence of oxygen in tumor cells of patients who are undergoing surgery or biopsy for breast, prostate, or cervical cancer or high grade soft tissue sarcoma.
