A Pilot Study of Chemo-prevention of Green Tea in Women With Ductal Carcinoma in Situ
Ductal Carcinoma in SituThe purpose of this study is to find molecular signs (biomarkers) to better understand the role of green tea as an anti-cancer and anti-inflammation agent in women with newly-diagnosed ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).
Spect Analysis of Cardiac Perfusion Changes After Whole Breast/Chest Wall Radiation Therapy With...
Breast NeoplasmsCarcinoma2 moreCardiac perfusion changes have been seen after whole breast / chest wall irradiation for breast cancer. The Active Breathing Coordinator (ABC) device theoretically decreases radiation exposure to the heart during radiation for breast cancer. In this trial cardiac perfusion changes or lack thereof will be quantified in women treated with radiation for breast cancer while using the ABC device. The control group of the study will consist of patients randomized to radiation therapy without the ABC device.
Anastrozole or Tamoxifen in Treating Postmenopausal Women With Ductal Carcinoma in Situ Who Are...
Breast CancerRATIONALE: Estrogen can stimulate the growth of breast cancer cells. Tamoxifen may fight breast cancer by blocking the use of estrogen. Anastrozole may fight breast cancer by decreasing estrogen production. It is not yet known whether anastrozole is more effective than tamoxifen in preventing the recurrence of breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying anastrozole to see how well it works compared to tamoxifen in preventing the recurrence of breast cancer in postmenopausal women with ductal carcinoma in situ who are undergoing lumpectomy and radiation therapy.
Pemetrexed as the First Treatment in Advanced or Metastatic Breast Cancer
Breast CancerBreast Neoplasms3 moreThe purposes of this study are to determine whether pemetrexed can help patients with metastatic (cancer that has spread to other parts of the body) breast cancer, to determine any side effects that may be associated with the drug, to determine how much pemetrexed should be given to patients, and to collect DNA for future research regarding metastatic breast cancer. The collection of DNA is optional to the patient.
Study of the Efficacy of Chloroquine in the Treatment of Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (The PINC Trial)...
CarcinomaIntraductal3 moreThe purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis that chloroquine will reduce the ability of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) to survive and spread. Participants will receive either chloroquine standard dose (500mg/week) or chloroquine low dose (250mg/week) for 1 month prior to surgical removal of the tumor.
Vaccine Therapy With or Without Sargramostim in Treating Patients With Advanced or Metastatic Cancer...
Adenocarcinoma of the ColonAdenocarcinoma of the Gallbladder40 morePhase I trial to study the effectiveness of vaccine therapy with or without sargramostim in treating patients who have advanced or metastatic cancer. Vaccines may make the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. Colony-stimulating factors such as sargramostim may increase the number of immune cells found in bone marrow or peripheral blood. Combining vaccine therapy with sargramostim may make tumor cells more sensitive to the vaccine and may kill more tumor cells
Ramucirumab in Treating Patients With Advanced or Metastatic, Previously Treated Biliary Cancers...
CholangiocarcinomaLiver and Intrahepatic Bile Duct Carcinoma10 moreThis phase II trial studies how well ramucirumab works in treating patients with previously treated biliary cancers that have spread to other places in the body and usually cannot be cured or controlled with treatment (advanced) or have spread to other places in the body (metastatic) and cannot be removed by surgery. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as ramucirumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.
Sorafenib Combined With Chemotherapy for Renal Collecting Duct Carcinoma
Renal Cell CarcinomaThe goal of this clinical research study is to learn the effectiveness of sorafenib combined with gemcitabine plus cisplatin in the treatment of patients with locally advanced or metastatic collecting duct carcinoma(CDC) of the kidney. The safety of each treatment will also be studied.
Trifluridine/Tipiracil and Irinotecan for the Treatment of Advanced Refractory Biliary Tract Cancer...
Advanced Bile Duct CarcinomaAdvanced Gallbladder Carcinoma16 moreThis phase II trial studies how well trifluridine/tipiracil and irinotecan work in treating patients with biliary tract cancer that has spread to other places in the body (advanced) and has not responded to treatment (refractory). Trifluridine/tipiracil and irinotecan may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
Letrozole in Treating Postmenopausal Women With Ductal Carcinoma in Situ
Breast CancerRATIONALE: Estrogen can cause the growth of breast cancer cells. Hormone therapy using letrozole may fight breast cancer by blocking the use of estrogen by the tumor cells or by lowering the amount of estrogen the body makes. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well letrozole works in treating women with ductal carcinoma in situ.
