InAdvance: Surveillance, Prevention, and Interception in a Population at Risk for Cancer
Cancer RiskCancer Predisposition Syndrome30 moreThis research study is creating a way to collect and store specimens and information from participants who may be at an increased risk of developing cancer, or has been diagnosed with an early phase of a cancer or a family member who has a family member with a precursor condition for cancer. The objective of this study is to identify exposures as well as clinical, molecular, and pathological changes that can be used to predict early development of cancer, malignant transformation, and risks of progression to symptomatic cancer that can ultimately be fatal. The ultimate goal is to identify novel markers of early detection and risk stratification to drive potential therapeutic approaches to intercept progression to cancer.
A Pre-Surgical PK Study of IM and Intraductally Delivered Fulvestrant
Female Breast CarcinomaFemale Ductal Carcinoma In SituThis is an open-label, non-randomized pharmacokinetic study of fulvestrant in women scheduled for mastectomy or lumpectomy. Eligible subjects will be identified with breast cancer or DCIS. The first subject of each of five groups will receive fulvestrant intramuscularly. The subsequent 5 subjects of each group will receive fulvestrant by intraductal instillation. All subjects will be monitored for systemic and local adverse events during the procedure, and following the procedure until mastectomy or lumpectomy. Subjects that receive fulvestrant will undergo serial blood draws to determine fulvestrant blood concentration levels.
The Mammography and Ultrasonography STudy for Breast Cancer Screening Effectiveness
Invasive CancerDuctal Carcinoma in SituMammography screening has limited performance in young women or women with dense breasts although it is the only proven method for breast cancer screening that reduces the mortality. The investigators propose a multicenter trial of breast cancer screening to assess the effectiveness of supplemental ultrasonography for Korean women aged 40-59 years.
Safety, Tolerability, and Efficacy Study of CLL442 in Patients With Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma...
Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma in Situ (CSCCis)The purpose of this first in human and proof of concept study is to characterize the safety, tolerability and initial efficacy of CLL442 in patients with Squamous Cell Carcinoma in situ (SCCis) to enable further clinical development of CLL442.
Hypofractionated Image Guided Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Stage IV Breast Cancer...
Central Nervous System MetastasesInvasive Ductal Breast Carcinoma14 moreThis pilot clinical trial studies new ways to monitor the impact of hypofractionated image guided radiation therapy in treating patients with stage IV breast cancer. Radiation therapy uses high energy x rays to kill tumor cells. Giving radiation therapy in different ways may kill more tumor cells.
Photodynamic Therapy Using HPPH in Treating Patients With Recurrent Dysplasia, Carcinoma in Situ,...
Head and Neck CancerRATIONALE: Photodynamic therapy uses a drug, such as HPPH, that is absorbed by tumor cells. The drug becomes active when it is exposed to light. When the drug is active, tumor cells are killed. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of photodynamic therapy using HPPH in treating patients with recurrent dysplasia, carcinoma in situ, or stage I oral cavity cancer.
An Assessment of an Attenuated Live Listeria Vaccine in CIN 2+
Cervical Intraepithelial NeoplasiaCervical cancer is associated with Human Papilloma Virus. About 57% of cervical cancer is the result of infection by Human Papilloma Virus strain 16 (HPV-16). HPV is a very common virus that can affect the cells of the cervix. E7 is a substance that is made by the HPV virus which causes cervical cancer. The purpose of the study is to test the safety, tolerability (how the drug makes you feel), immunology (effects on the immune system) and efficacy (disease curing effects) of a vaccine called Lovaxin C against E7. The vaccine is designed to cause the immune system to react against the E7 substance in a manner that is intended to reverse the changes to the cervix and prevent cervical cancer from occurring.
Megestrol in Treating Patients With Endometrial Neoplasia or Endometrial Hyperplasia
High Grade Squamous Intraepithelial NeoplasiaStage 0 Uterine Corpus CancerThis randomized phase II trial is studying how well megestrol works in treating patients with endometrial neoplasia or endometrial hyperplasia. Estrogen can cause the growth of endometrial cancer cells. Hormone therapy using megestrol may fight endometrial cancer by blocking the use of estrogen by the abnormal cells.
Hexaminolevulinate (HAL) Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) of Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN)...
Cervical Intraepithelial NeoplasiaThe study will examine the effect of HAL vs placebo photodynamic therapy of low-grade cervical precancerous lesions (dysplasia) in women.
Preoperative Testing of the Anti-Progesterone Mifepristone in Early Stage Breast Cancer
Invasive Breast CancerDuctal Carcinoma in SituThe primary objective of this study is to identify the group of women with early stage breast cancer most likely to benefit from treatment with the selective progesterone receptor modulator (SPRM) mifepristone. This will be done by treating women briefly prior to planned surgery and examining the decrease in growth rate (measured by Ki-67 immunohistochemistry) in tumor samples taken before and after exposure to mifepristone.
