This trial tests new methods and materials for the real-time chemotherapy-associated side effects monitoring support system (RT-CAMSS) in patients with gastrointestinal cancers undergoing chemotherapy. RT-CAMSS is a monitoring support system that provides patients with evidence-based information and side-effect management and coping skills, emotional support and validation, and proactive care via text messages and questionnaires as they undergo chemotherapy.

RATIONALE: Zoledronic acid may prevent bone loss and help prevent or lessen musculoskeletal symptoms in women receiving hormone therapy for breast cancer. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well zoledronic acid works in preventing musculoskeletal symptoms in post-menopausal women with stage I, stage II, or stage III breast cancer receiving letrozole.

RATIONALE: Vorinostat may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying how well vorinostat works in treating women with ductal carcinoma in situ of the breast.

The study is an exploratory prospective, single center study with correlative endpoints. The study will investigate the association of tumor cGAS STING signaling with SAbR. An outpatient education and behavior skills training program may help spouses and patients with breast cancer communicate better and improve quality of life. This randomized pilot trial studies broccoli sprout extract in treating patients with breast cancer. Broccoli sprout extract contains ingredients that may prevent or slow the growth of certain cancers. Studying samples of tissue from patients receiving broccoli sprout extract may help determine if it can enter breast tumor cells and how it affects certain biomarkers.

This is a parallel human intervention trial to determine to what extent a dietary intervention of broccoli or peas can change the expression (switching on or off) of genes in prostate tissue in men diagnosed with high-grade Prostate Intraepithelial Neoplasia (PIN).
