Atezolizumab Combined With Chemotherapy in Extensive Stage SCLC

Small Cell Lung Cancer

CLINATEZO cohort will evaluate overall survival, real world progression-free survival, best response and duration of treatment in patients with advanced, metastatic Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) who received atezolizumab combined with chemotherapy part of the French Early Access Program (ATU). Subsequent treatments (treatment delivered immediately after treatment with atezolizumab and chemotherapy) will be recorded. Those outcomes will be correlated to clinical, pathological, and radiological characteristics of patients.

Breath Analysis for Evaluation of Radiation Exposure in Lung Cancer Patients Treated With Radiation...

Lung CancerNon-Small Cell Lung Cancer1 more

Patients treated with radiation therapy for lung tumors can experience inflammation after treatment. This study hopes to evaluate the use of breath analysis to evaluate changes in the composition of exhaled breath in patients undergoing radiotherapy. If changes can be detected, this may ultimately serve as biomarkers for identifying patients at highest risk for radiation-induced lung injury (radiation pneumonitis).

Prospective Analysis of Genotypes in Adults Undergoing Therapy for Lung Cancer

CarcinomaNon-Small Cell Lung2 more

Background: The Lung Cancer section of the National Cancer Institute s Medical Oncology Branch is running a study to better understand which genes might be important in patients who are undergoing therapy for lung cancer. Objectives: To find out if differences (also called polymorphisms) in specific genes lead to differences in outcomes (such as treatment success and survival rates) for patients who have been diagnosed with lung cancer. To establish a repository of genetic information for future studies of these differences and their relation to lung cancer. Eligibility: Any individual who has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is being treated through the National Cancer Institute. Design: After entrance in this study, patients will provide information to the researchers on age, gender, race/ethnicity, treatments received and response to treatments, and other specific information about their disease. This information will be kept confidential. Approximately half a tablespoon of blood will be drawn. Patients will be treated for lung cancer with normal treatment methods, as if they had not been enrolled in the study Some patients may be offered the option of enrolling in separate research protocols for cancer treatment, involving chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation.

Concurrent Chemo-Radiotherapy for Limited Disease Small Cell Lung Cancer (LD-SCLC) on Basis of FDG-PET-Scans...

Small Cell Lung Cancer

Our group has shown that the omission of elective nodal irradiation on the basis of CT scans in patients with LD-SCLC lead to a higher than expected isolated nodal recurrence in the ipsilateral supraclavicular area. We have previously also shown that selective mediastinal nodal radiation on basis of FDG-PET scans in NSCLC is safe and reduces the radiation fields and hence toxicity. As the accuracy of FDG-PET scans is also in SCLC higher than CT, we will investigate the safety of selective nodal irradiation in LD-SCLC patients treated with concurrent chemo-radiation.

Glycoprotein and Glycan in Tissue and Blood Samples of Patients With Stage IB-IVA Cervical Cancer...

Cervical AdenocarcinomaCervical Adenosquamous Carcinoma8 more

This clinical trial studies glycoprotein and glycan in tissue and blood samples of patients with stage IB-IVA cervical cancer undergoing surgery to remove pelvic and abdominal lymph nodes. Studying samples of tumor tissue and blood from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and identify biomarkers related to cancer. It may also help doctors learn how far the disease has spread.

Breast CancerNon-Small Cell Lung Cancer2 more

The primary objective was to describe the incidence of febrile neutropenia based on granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) use (primary, secondary, treatment, or no usage) in patients receiving myelotoxic chemotherapy.

Non-small Cell Lung CancerSmall Cell Lung Cancer

This research trial studies genomic analysis in tissue and blood samples from young patients with lung cancer. Identifying specific gene mutations (changes in deoxyribonucleic acid [DNA]) may help doctors tailor treatment to target the specific mutations and help plan effective treatment.

Effect of Chemotherapy With Paclitaxel/Cisplatin on Development Dysgeusia in Non Small Cell Lung...

Non-Small Cell Lung CancerDysgeusia3 more

One of the most widely used treatments for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the combination of paclitaxel-cisplatin. These drugs may contribute to taste alterations like dysgeusia. Which alters the feeding of cancer patients, contributing to the anorexia, weight loss and malnutrition, which leads to a prognostic impact in a lower patient response to chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgical treatment as well as increased toxic effects, impacting treatment discontinuation and therefore, morbidity and survival of patients. The objective of this study is to describe the threshold of perception and recognition of basic tastes in patients with NSCLC before treatment with platin and paclitaxel-based chemotherapy and after the second cycle, and analyze the effect in the developement of dysgeusia, as well as the association between these and the nutritional status and quality of life.
