Postoperative Radiotherapy Followed by Immunotherapy for Locally Advanced Esophageal Carcinoma

Esophageal Carcinoma

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is a common malignancy in China. Although neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy followed by esophagectomy remains a standard modality for locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, esophagectomy followed by postoperative radiotherapy is also prevalent in China. Several retrospective studies demonstrated that postoperative radiotherapy could improve the prognosis of patients. Nevertheless, there still existed approximately 11.5% and 17.2% of total patients developing local-regional relapse and hematological metastasis. The result of Checkmate 577 has shown that postoperative immunotherapy of nivolumab could improve the disease-free survival (median Disease-free Survival 29.7 mos vs. 11.0 mos). Therefore, investigators aimed to implement a pilot study to explore the safety and efficacy of combining postoperative radiotherapy and immunotherapy for patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma after esophagectomy.

Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

HS-20093 is a fully humanized IgG1 antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) which specifically binds to B7-H3, a target wildly expressed on solid tumor cells. This is a phase 2, open-label, multi-center study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics (PK) and immunogenicity of HS-20093 as a monotherapy in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and other solid tumors.

Lung Non-Small Cell CarcinomaStage IV Lung Cancer AJCC v8

This phase II trial tests how well biologically guided radiation therapy (BgRT) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) with osimertinib works for the treatment of EGFR positive non-small cell lung carcinoma that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to a limited number of anatomic sites (oligoprogressive). BgRT is radiation that uses specialized imaging to during treatment to target the active tumor and direct radiation to tumors in order to kill and shrink tumor cells. Stereotactic body radiation therapy uses special equipment to position a patient and deliver radiation to tumors with high precision. This method may kill tumor cells with fewer doses over a shorter period and cause less damage to normal tissue. Osimertinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of a protein called EGFR that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps slow or stop the spread of tumor cells. Giving BgRT with SBRT and osimertinib may kill more tumor cells in patients with oligoprogressive EGFR positive non-small cell lung carcinoma.

This study investigates the influence of type of anesthesia on recurrence and survival of renal cell carcinoma in patients undergoing nephrectomy. The participants will be allocated to either the group receiving the total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) using propofol or the group receiving the inhaled anesthetics, such as sevoflurane or desflurane.

This trial studies how well an enhanced tobacco intervention protocol (ETIP) works compared to standard treatment in helping head and neck and lung cancer patients starting treatment to reduce cigarette use. ETIP is an evidence-based tobacco cessation program including specialized one-to-one and telehealth counseling, drug therapy, nicotine replacement therapy, and frequent patient follow up. ETIP may help reduce smoking and improve cessation in patients with head and neck squamous cell cancer or non-small cell lung cancer.

Hepatocellular Carcinoma With Major Portal Vein Thrombosis

This is a randomized, double-blinded, controlled, phase II study. The purpose is to evaluate efficacy and safety of the combination therapy of HAIC (Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy) with HLX10 (PD-1 antibody) and HLX04 (VEGF antibody) compared with HAIC and placebo in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma with major portal vein tumor thrombosis.
