Nevoid Basal Cell Carcinomas in Gorlin Syndrome

Basal Cell CarcinomaGorlin Syndrome

The overall aim of the project is to gain knowledge about the expected course of nevoid basal cell carcinomas and the usefulness of dermatoscopy in young individuals with Gorlin syndrome. Clinical experience and some case-reports suggest that nevoid basal cell carcinomas have an indolent course with slow growth and that they can sometimes regress. However, no systematic research has previously been performed. Increased knowledge about nevoid basal cell carcinomas and the use of dermatoscopy could be of great clinical value in the follow-up and treatment of individuals with nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome.

Image-Guided Biopsies to Identify Mechanisms of Resistance in Patients With Metastatic Castration...

Castration-Resistant Prostate CarcinomaMetastatic Prostate Carcinoma3 more

This clinical trial studies mechanisms of resistance to 177-lutetium prostate specific membrane antigen (177Lu-PSMA) radioligand therapy using image-guided biopsies in patients with castrate-resistant prostate cancer that had spread to other places in the body (metastatic). Diagnostic procedures, such as image guided biopsies, may help in learning how well 177Lu-PSMA works to kill tumor cells and allow doctors to plan better treatment.

Single Centre Prospective Evaluation of 68Gallium-FAPI PET/MRI in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Single centre prospective evaluation of 68Gallium(Ga68)-FAPI-46 PET/MRI in patients diagnosed with Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). 68Gallium-FAPI-46 PET/MRI and standard contrasted multiphasic MRI imaging will be acquired in patients with radiological or histological diagnosis of HCC. The PET scan results will be compared to standard imaging to evaluate its role in lesion detection, characterisation and staging in patients with HCC.

3D Ultrasound, Specimen Examination by Surgeon, and MRI in Surgical Margin Assessment

Squamous Cell CarcinomaTongue SCC1 more

In the current protocol, application of 3D ex-vivo ultrasound, MRI, and clinical evaluation (palpation and examination) by the surgeon is proposed to analyze the margin status in tongue squamous cell carcinoma and correlate the results to the histopathology findings.

Cure Rates of Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) EDC

Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma

This is a prospective, randomized clinical trial conducted at the Unviersity of Wisconsin (UW) Dermatology Clinic located at 1 S. Park Street, Madison, WI 53715. There are no controls. Subjects meeting eligibility criteria are randomly divided into one of two treatment groups (ED&C x 1 cycle or ED&C x 3 cycles) using computer generated random numbers. One cycle of ED&C is defined according to standard technique currently employed. It involves scraping away the tumor with a curette (ring- shaped instrument) and then burning the curetted site with a small electric needle (electrodessication). During Visit 1, the surgical site is marked, local numbing medication is injected, and 1 or 3 cycles of ED&C is/are performed by board-certified dermatologists or a dermatology resident under the direct supervision of a board certified dermatologist. All follow-up visits (3, 6, 9, and 12 months after Visit 1) include skin evaluations by the physician who performed the ED&C. The lesion site is examined, measured, and photographed for clinical evidence of recurrence, as defined by a new lesion within the previously treated site. If there is evidence of possible tumor recurrence at the treated surgical site during Visit 2, 3, 4 or 5, then the lesion will be biopsied using a shave procedure.

Lobectomy and Mediastinal Radiochemotherapy in Unresectable Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer...

Non Small Cell Lung Carcinoma

The purpose of this study is to determine if radical radiochemotherapy on the mediastinum after lobectomy can be associated with significant long term survival in patients with initially unresectable stage III NSCLC responding to induction chemotherapy but in which the residual disease is too large to be treated by radiotherapy.
