Basal Cell Carcinoma

While current guidelines call for annual follow-up for patients with a history of basal cell carcinoma, compliance with these guidelines is imperfect. It is hypothesized that if patients are informed of the quantitative risk of a subsequent basal cell carcinoma based on individualized risk factors, the compliance rate for follow-up will improve. The primary objective of this study is to assess one-year compliance with requested follow-up for patients with recent history of basal cell carcinoma, among those who receive standard sun avoidance counseling and request for follow-up compared to those who receive, in addition, an estimate of their mathematical risk of a subsequent basal cell carcinoma based on individualized risk factors.

Dose Escalation Trial of Neoadjuvant Sorafenib and Concurrent Sorafenib, Cisplatin and Radiation...

Locally Advanced Squamous Cell Carcinomas of the Head and Neck (SCCHN)

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and determine MTD (maximal tolerated doses) and recommended doses of neoadjuvant sorafenib (BAY 43-9006) and concurrent sorafenib, cisplatin and radiation in the locally advanced squamous cell carcinomas of the head and neck (SCCHN)patient population.

iConquerFear Program for the Treatment of Fear of Cancer Recurrence in Patients With Localized Renal...

Renal Cell Carcinoma

This trial investigates whether an online intervention, iConquerFear, can reduce fear of cancer coming back (recurrence) and anxiety in patients with renal cell carcinoma that is restricted to the site of origin, without evidence of spread (localized). This intervention is an online adaptation of a highly effective face-to-face treatment for fear of recurrence that teaches strategies for: controlling worry and excessive threat monitoring, modifying unhelpful beliefs about worry, developing appropriate monitoring and screening behaviors, addressing cancer-related existential change, promoting values-based goal setting, and reducing uncertainty by providing information about cancer and treatment. The information learned may help others with renal cell carcinoma who also have a fear of cancer recurrence.

Effects of Ribociclib and Palbociclib on Tumor and Blood Characteristics in Patients With Metastatic...

Advanced Breast AdenocarcinomaAdvanced HER2-Negative Breast Carcinoma13 more

This clinical trial attempts to understand the differences between two chemotherapy drugs, ribociclib and palbociclib, and how they fight cancer. This study looks at tissue and blood characteristics of patients receiving these therapies in the hopes to develop a way to predict which medication would provide the most benefit to an individual patient.

A Clinical Study of Precision TACE (P-TACE) With Surefire

Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma

The purpose of this research study is to learn about 2 types of FDA-approved catheters used in angiographic (X-ray of blood vessels, with radiopaque substance) procedures like DEB-TACE treatment. The Principal Investigator will check the beads given during the DEB-TACE. They will compare the way in which they are spread out in the tumor and density (how condensed something is).

Y-90 Versus SBRT for Inoperable HCC

Hepatocellular CarcinomaStage I Hepatocellular Carcinoma AJCC v87 more

This phase II trial tests whether Y-90 segmentectomy (internal radiation) versus stereotactic body radiation therapy (external radiation) is more optimal in treating inoperable liver cancer. Y-90 segmentectomy consists into very tiny radioactive glass beads that can be injected into the liver through the blood vessels supplying the liver. Stereotactic body radiation therapy uses special equipment to position a patient and deliver external radiation to tumors with high precision. This study many help doctors determine which treatment, Y-90 segmentectomy or SBRT, works better in treating liver cancer.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine Hydrochloride in Preventing Peripheral Neuropathy in Patients With Recurrent...

FatigueMalignant Ovarian Mixed Epithelial Tumor11 more

This randomized phase III trial studies how well acetyl-L-carnitine hydrochloride works compared to a placebo in preventing peripheral neuropathy in patients with recurrent ovarian epithelial cancer, primary peritoneal cancer, or fallopian tube cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Acetyl-L-carnitine hydrochloride may prevent or lessen peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy. It is not yet known whether acetyl-L-carnitine hydrochloride is more effective compared to a placebo in preventing peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy.

Determining Quality of Life in Breast Cancer Patient After Completing Radiation,Chemotherapy,Surgery...

Breast Carcinoma

Rationale: Determining quality of life in breast cancer patient after completing chemotherapy or radiation therapy or surgical procedures or any combination therapy. Intervention includes supportive care in terms of psychological support and moral boosting efforts by counseling breast cancer survivors which may enhance the well-being and quality of life of women who are treated with chemotherapy or radiation therapy or surgical procedures or any given combination therapy. PURPOSE: Randomized clinical trial study to compare the effectiveness of support system and counseling of breast cancer survivors on the well-being of women, who have completed various modes of treatment of breast cancer with the subjects who have no support system. Study Type: Quality of life and survival Study Design: Two arm randomized controlled clinical trial to study quality of life and survival of breast cancer patients after completion of chemotherapy or radiation therapy or surgery or any combination therapy. The stages from I to IV (metastases to other sites of the body) are included.

Surgical Resection for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Resectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma is a type of liver cancer and is one of the leading causes of global cancer death. Surgical resection of the afflicted areas of the liver is one of the treatment methods for this condition. In this retrospective research, the investigators explore the outcomes of liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma patients undergoing liver resection from 2010 to 2021 in Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, Jakarta. The main outcome is mortality and the secondary outcomes are factors predicting mortality after resection.
