Smart phone-based applications to identify cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIED) are extremely useful in circumstances where urgent device interrogation is needed and device identification card is not available. Few studies have provided insight regarding the utility of these applications. We have studied two widely available applications i.e., Pacemaker ID app (PMIDa) or Cardiac Rhythm Management Devices-Finder (CRMD-f) to identiy device manufacturers in CIEDs.

The study includes two parts: Part 1: 100 examinations of patient referred for echo evaluation, containing clips that were acquired from the 4CH apical view were collected retrospectively. Each study includes 10 clips that represent typical user scanning errors Offline evaluation of the system (by batch processing) shall be performed by comparing the system output to preliminary quality tagging by experienced sonographers Part 2: Live scans of apical 4CH clips of patients with indication for POCUS examination will be performed by POC physicians LVivo IQS shall be used (on Lumify) during the scan for patients that meet inclusion criteria until 50 exams will be collected. 3 sec of each scan shall be saved, and Image quality score (IQS) shall be documented Saved scans shall be reviewed by an expert physician to determine whether they are clinically interpretable

This document is a clinical investigation plan (CIP) for the EnSite Precision Observational Study. This clinical study is intended to quantify and characterize the usage of the EnSite Precision™ Cardiac Mapping System (Software version 2.0.1 or higher) in a real-world environment. This study will be conducted in patients who are indicated for a cardiac electrophysiological (EP) mapping and radio frequency ablation procedure using a three-dimensional system.

Patients With Symptoms of Cardiac Arrhythmia at Risk for Atrial Fibrillation

Our primary hypothesis is that a risk score comprised of approximately 10 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that are associated with atrial fibrillation at the Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) level is associated with the development of atrial fibrillation among previously undiagnosed patients at high risk for atrial fibrillation. A current example of these SNPs is shown in Table 1. As a secondary hypothesis, we will test the association between atrial fibrillation diagnosed in this study with a subset of SNPs reported to be associated with atrial fibrillation and with fine-mapping SNPs. We will also test the association between atrial fibrillation of less than and greater than 30 seconds and a panel of approximately 10 SNPs.

Arrhythmic Effects of Hight Dose Caffeine

Heart failure patients represent a group of individuals at higher risk for cardiac arrhythmias. There is a perception that caffeine consumption may represent an increase in this risk. Although the medical staff and health professionals suggest a reduction in the intake of this substance to patients considered at risk, there is no scientific proof for this recommendation. Some animal studies suggest a possible association between arrhythmias and caffeine use with higher doses, but this finding did not appear in human studies. In particular, little is known about the association between caffeine consumption and arrhythmias in patients with heart failure, especially at higher doses of consumption. More specific and safe guidelines on caffeine consumption are needed.
