The registry study is to obtain the state of the art of the percutaneous coronary intervention state treatment for coronary heart disease in Beijing area of P.R.China in a real world. The data are collected from 48 hospitals in Beijing area using an uploading system through internet.

Previous studies comparing on-pump and off-pump operating strategy did only partially demonstrate benefits of the off-pump myocardial revascularisation.In primary end-points (MI, death, renal failure, and so on) there was no significant difference, but in secondary end-points we observed benefits resulting for patients. We would like to show the benefit of the method without extracorporeal circulation in patients with higher and hight operation risk, coming from EuroSCORE classification system (6 points and more).

The goal of this laboratory research study is to collect and store blood and tissue from patients who have a diagnosis of heart disease and may be at a high risk for the development of heart failure. This blood may be used in the future to identify genes that may play a role in developing congestive heart failure (CHF) from chemotherapy or other sources. This is an investigational study. All will be enrolled at MD Anderson.

Characterization of Adipose Derived Regenerative Cells (ADRCs) From Patients With Chronic Heart...

Chronic Heart Failure

Human adipose tissue is now recognized as an acceptable, highly abundant source of adipose-derived regenerative cells (ADRCs). ADRCs are a heterogeneous or mixed population of cells found in adipose tissue including adult stem cells, leukocytes, connective tissue and vessel-associated cells. Autologous adult regenerative cells are thought to promote healing of scarred or injured tissue. While the investigators are learning more about the exact mechanisms every day, it is believed that this heterogeneous population of cells influences the local environment via cell-to-cell signaling, immune modulation, and differentiation into other cell types. The use of ADRCs in the treatment of many different medical conditions (including cardiovascular disease, soft tissue defects, wound healing, and many more) is being evaluated in numerous clinical and preclinical studies around the world. While there is a considerable amount of information regarding the cellular composition of ADRCs isolated from healthy donors, basically there is no much data regarding the ADRC composition from cardiac patients. In this study, adipose tissue or cells from chronic heart ischemia patients, that would otherwise be thrown away in waste, will be provided to researchers who will study these cells with the objective to characterize ADRCs derived from patients with a heart disease and to compare if a heart disease state does impact ADRC cell composition.

Pulmonary Hypertension Due to Left Heart Disease

Left heart disease is the main cause of pulmonary hypertension. With the advent of the aging society, chronic heart failure has become a global public health problem. Therefore the prevalence of pulmonary hypertension due to the left heart disease is increasing. However, there is no research on the prevalence of pulmonary hypertension due to the left heart disease in China. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to describe real-world outcome of Chinese patients with pulmonary hypertension due to the left heart disease and identify factors that may predict outcome. Our study will profile the demographics, clinical course, treatments, and outcomes of pulmonary hypertension due to the left heart disease in China.

Turner syndrome is a congenital complete or partial lack one of the female sex chromosomes affecting 1 of 2000 live born girls. The syndrome is characterized by an increased prevalence of ischemic heart disease, aortic dilation and dissection, hypertension, stroke and autoimmune diseases in general. Our study aim is: Using MRI to further characterize and find risk factors leading to aortic dilation. Using MRI to assess the degree of aortic distensibility. Using Computed tomography x-ray scanning of the heart and coronary arteries to characterize the prevalence and degree of ischemic heart disease and coronary anomalies. Using pressure sensitive ultrasound (applanation tonometry) to assess the degree of aortic stiffness when compared to controls using end points as Pulse Wave Velocity, Augmentation Index and Central Pulse Pressure.
