A Prospective Registry Study to Assess Real-world Patient Characteristics, Treatment Patterns, and...
Obstructive Hypertrophic CardiomyopathyThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of mavacamten in patients with symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) treated in the real-world setting. The registry study also provide a real-world understanding of the current obstructive HCM patient population, treatment patterns, and clinical relevant outcomes for patients with symptomatic obstructive HCM in the US.
Pediatric Cardiomyopathy Mutation Analysis
CardiomyopathiesDilated Cardiomyopathy4 moreThe goal of this protocol is to obtain information from individuals with cardiomyopathy and from their families in order to elucidate the molecular genetics of this disorder. This will provide the basis for future genetic counseling as well as contribute to elucidating the biology of normal and abnormal cardiac function.
Optimisation of Decision Making for Defibrillator Implantation in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
Hypertrophic CardiomyopathyThe main objective of the study is to improve implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implantation decision-making processing relevance by developing a new prediction model of sudden cardiac death (SCD) in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), including newly identified potential biomarkers by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and genetics, through a prospective nationwide study, multivariate analysis and modelling of an absolute risk. The secondary objective is to perform a medico-economic analysis of ICD implantation in order to define an optimal rule for ICD implantation in patients with HCM, taking into account the benefits of ICD, adverse effects of ICD and associated costs (cost of quality adjusted life years saved).
Neurologic Evaluation of Patients After Transapical Beating-Heart Septal Myectomy
Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy \(HOCM\)Neurologic Evaluation3 moreThe goal of this prospective cohort study is to evaluate the neurologic changes in patients that received transapical beating-heart septal myectomy. The main questions are: whether this novel operation way would cause neurologic impairment; whether this novel operation way have similar neurologic lesions, compared to other cardiac surgery ways. Participants will undergo detailed neurologic and cognitive assessment at baseline, after procedure, and at 30 days. Researchers will compare the clinically relevant manifestations and brain lesions measured by cognitive evaluation forms of the nervous system (i.e. Montreal cognitive assessment) and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) to assess the safety of transapical beating-heart septal myectomy on nervous system.
FASHION Fabry Disease Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Infammation
Fabry DiseaseIn Fabry disease (FD) and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) systemic inflammation recently gained attention as a possible key pathophysiologic process involved in the development of cardiac hypertrophy and progression of the disease. Differences in inflammatory profile between FD and HCM have never been investigated so far.
Baby Detect : Genomic Newborn Screening
Congenital Adrenal HyperplasiaFamilial Hyperinsulinemic Hypoglycemia 1134 moreNewborn screening (NBS) is a global initiative of systematic testing at birth to identify babies with pre-defined severe but treatable conditions. With a simple blood test, rare genetic conditions can be easily detected, and the early start of transformative treatment will help avoid severe disabilities and increase the quality of life. Baby Detect Project is an innovative NBS program using a panel of target sequencing that aims to identify 126 treatable severe early onset genetic diseases at birth caused by 361 genes. The list of diseases has been established in close collaboration with the Paediatricians of the University Hospital in Liege. The investigators use dedicated dried blood spots collected between the first day and 28 days of life of babies, after a consent sign by parents.
Pilot Study of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy & Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator Assessment:...
Implantable Defibrillator UserHypertrophic Cardiomyopathy2 morePilot randomised trial to assess recruitment for a larger trial to compare the efficacy and adverse effects of the subcutaneous and transvenous ICD in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and indication for ICD therapy, with no requirement for pacing
Concomitant Hybrid Versus Catheter Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation With Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy...
Atrial FibrillationCardiomyopathy2 moreThe goal of this clinical trial is to compare the rhythm control effect in hypertrophic non-obstructive patients with non-paroxysmal atrial fibrillation by either concomitant catheter endocardial and thoracoscopic epicardial ablation or catheter ablation alone. The study aims to see if concomitant hybrid ablation can more effectively achieve rhythm control effect than catheter ablation alone in non-paroxysmal atrial fibrillation patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Empagliflozin in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
Hypertrophic CardiomyopathyHeart FailureThe proposed intervention will be administration of empagliflozin at a standard dose of 10 mg daily for a period of 12 months. Patients with diagnosed diabetes will be excluded from the study. Patients (n = 250) will be randomized in a double-blind fashion to empagliflozin or placebo group. The primary endpoint of the study will be the change in peak oxygen uptake (VO2 max) measured in a cardiopulmonary exercise test. VO2max is an objective indicator of physical performance and will be evaluated before and after empagliflozin or placebo treatment.
A Cardiac Disease Quality of Life Study
Hypertrophic Obstructive CardiomyopathyThoracic Aortic Dilatation2 moreA prospective, longitudinal, non-comparator, non-randomized observational cohort study to assess the quality of life in adult patients affected by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and thoracic aortic dilatations who are not amenable to surgery, as well as those affected radiation-induced cardiac disease caused by radiation therapy.
