Measurements of Color Matching and Blending Effect

Tooth Decay

There is a deficiency in literature which compares the blending effect and color matching of translucent shade bulk-fill resin composite with shaded bulk-fill resin composite. So in this research color matching and blending effect will be instrumentally measured the by a spectrophotometer. A visual assessment also will be done in-vivo and ex-vivo.

Potential for Dentine Discoloration of Silver Diamino Fluoride Associated With Potassium Iodide...

Dental Caries in Children

The objective of this randomized clinical trial will be the comparison of dentine discoloration after treatment with: Silver Diamino Fluoride and Silver Diamino Fluoride associated with Potassium Iodide for caries lesions in posterior primary teeth. The study sample will consist of children presenting caries lesion in dentin, without reporting spontaneous pain. The children will be allocated into 2 groups that will correspond to the treatments with the use of SDF (Group 1), SDF + PI (Group 2). Treatment will be performed by trained and calibrated researchers. Examiners will be blind to the treatment received. Initially, data will be collected on socio-demographic aspects, characteristics of children, and clinical aspects. Clinical, photographic and initial evaluations will be performed after 1 week, 15 days, 1 and 2 months after treatment. The results obtained will be typed and organized in a database, using the software Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), version 22.0 and descriptive, bivariate analyzes will be performed.

Biological and Esthetic Evaluation of Ceramic Onlay With Different Preparation Designs

Unsatisfactory Restoration of ToothCarious Teeth

Aim of study: is to asses biological and esthetical success of ceramic onlay restorations while preparing the teeth using shoulder finish line preparation versus butt joint with bevel preparation. Methods: Patients with need to posterior onlay restoration (premolars and molars) will be allocated into two groups either conventional (shoulder finish line) or conservative group (butt joint with bevel), after tooth preparation impression, restoration fabrication, try in, cementation and restoration will be evaluated two weeks post cementation then follow up will be held every two months for 1 year.

Partial Removal of Caries Dentines

Dental Caries

The aim of this multicenter randomized controlled clinical trial is to evaluate the effectiveness of an alternative treatment for deep caries lesions in Public Health Services. The alternative treatment consists of partial removal of carious dentine followed by restoration. The subjects were assigned to test or control groups: test - carious dentine partial removal and restoration in one session, and control - stepwise excavation. The stepwise excavation consists of partial removal of carious tissue from the cavity floor, indirect pulp capping with calcium hydroxide cement; temporary filling; cavity re-opening after 60 days, removal of the remaining soft carious tissue and filling. Each group was divided according to the filling material: amalgam or resin. The radiological exams are being performed before and after the treatment and then annually. Clinical evaluation of the restorations is performed right after the treatment and then annually (modified USPHS System). All evaluations are performed by calibrated and trained dentists.

Clinical Assessement of Glazed Versus Polished Lithium Disilicate Crowns in Surface Roughness and...

Tooth Decay

It is believed that final glazing yields the most acceptable ceramic surfaces in terms of smoothness. However, since reglazing must be performed in a dental laboratory with the use of a thermal furnace, it requires multiple office visits. Repeated firings have a destructive effect on ceramic surfaces and can cause deformation. Conversely, polishing is easy and simple and can be accomplished in a single session.

Cost-efficacy of Sealing Moderate Caries Lesions in Occlusal Surfaces of Primary Molars

Dental Caries

This protocol aims to assess the cost-efficacy and applicability of the treatment of lesions moderate caries using sealants as an alternative to the restorations on occlusal surfaces of deciduous teeth. Initially, a non-inferiority study was designed in order to verify if sealing could be non-inferior than restoration. In this case, it could be preferable since it is less invasive. Therefore, cost will be put forward into the analysis considering even reintervention during the follow-ups (cost-efficacy analyses). Finally, the acceptability could be another differential point between treatments.

Effect of Surface Sealant Application on Clinical Performance Occlusal Restorations

Dental CariesClass I Dental Caries1 more

The aim was to evaluate the clinical performance of HEMA-containing and HEMA-free all-in-one self-etch adhesives with and without a surface sealing process with a nanohybrid composite in occlusal caries restorations. The hypothesis is that the HEMA-containing and HEMA-free all-in-one self-etch adhesive and the surface sealing process would significantly effect clinical performance of occlusal restorations.
