Impact of the Radiographic Examination on Diagnosis and Treatment Decision of Caries Lesions in...

Dental CariesTeeth Loss1 more

Radiographs have been used to aid dentists in detecting the presence of cavities in the deciduous teeth of children. This procedure is globally recommended because the conventional clinical examination usually overlooks some cavities. However, the real benefit of performing dental radiographs for this purpose is still unclear. Besides the hazards of ionizing radiation, the radiographs could provoke overtreatment of the children; hence, dentists would tend to restore more teeth than would be really necessary. Nowadays, it is preferable to overlook some cavities than treat the teeth unnecessarily. Therefore, the investigators aimed to perform this study to compare two different strategies for detecting cavities in deciduous teeth of children: one based on clinical examination performed alone and other using radiographs adjunct to the clinical examination. To compare these strategies, the investigators will consider outcomes related to children's health and welfare.

Clinical Evaluation of Internal Fit of Milled BioHPP Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) - Based Versus...

Badly Decayed Teeth andTeeth Restored With Large Filling Restorations and Endodontically Treated Teeth and Malformed Teeth and Malposed Teeth

All ceramic crowns are indicated in case of mild to moderate discoloration, restoration of traumatized or fractured teeth and abnormal tooth anatomy. The success of dental restorations is determined by four main factors: biocompatibility, aesthetic value, resistance to fracture and marginal adaptation. . An inadequate marginal fit may compromise the longevity of the restoration since cement film exposure to the oral environment can lead to its dissolution . . Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is a polymer that has many potentials uses in dentistry. Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) can be used to support fixed dental prostheses. However, information about physio mechanical characterization is still scarce. Aim of the study: - The aim of this study is to evaluate the internal fit of milled BioHPP PEEK-based versus zirconia-based single crowns.

One Year Clinical Evaluation of Shade Matching and Patient Satisfaction of New Gradient Technology...

Decayed TeethMalposed Teeth4 more

Although zirconia is widely used for fabrication of restorations, the 3Y-TZP zirconia where limited for posterior region for its high strength and bad esthetic. While the 5Y-TZP zirconia is limited for the anterior region due to its good esthetic and low strength. For that reason, the introduction of the new gradient technology zirconia (5Y-TZP\3Y-TZP) (IPS e.max Zircad Prime) has offered a solution to solve this problem be combining the esthetic of 5Y-TZP and the high strength of 3Y-TZP. The aim of the present study is to evaluate shade matching to natural tooth and patient satisfaction of the new gradient technology zirconia (5Y-TZP\3Y-TZP) and lithium disilicate ceramic crowns.

Clinical Performance of a Glass-ionomer Restorative System in Extended-sized Cavities

Dental Caries Class II

The aim of this clinical trial was to compare the clinical performances of a glass ionomer restorative system with a micro hybrid resin based composite in extended sized class II cavities. A total of 100 class 2 lesions were restored with a glass ionomer restorative system (Equia Forte) or a micro hybrid composite (G-aenial Posterior). Restorations were evaluated at baseline and yearly during 6 years according to the modified-USPHS criteria. Data were analyzed with Cohcran's Q and McNemar's tests (p<0.05).
