Major Adverse Cardiac Events After Carotid Endarterectomy

Carotid StenosisCarotid Endarterectomy1 more

Carotid endarterectomy is the operation for curing the significant carotid artery stenotic patients who are also at high cardiac risk. This retrospective study is to find out the incidence and risk factors related.

Safety and Efficacy of Low Dosage of Terazosin in Subjects Undergoing Carotid Artery Stenting

Carotid Artery Stenosis

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of low dosage of Terazosin in Carotid Artery Stenting

Ultrasound-guided Intermediate Cervical Plexus Block for Carotid Surgery

Carotid Artery Stenosis

Since stroke and myocardial ischemia are major causes of perioperative morbidity and mortality associated with carotid endarterectomy, monitoring the brain and ensuring the best hemodynamic stability are important goals of perioperative management. The investigators conducted a prospective observational study about efficacy and safety of the ultrasound-guided intermediate cervical plexus block (CPB), with early (immediate postoperative) and mid-term (day 30) outcomes in awake patients undergoing carotid endarterectomy.

Cognitive Outcome After Carotid Surgery

Carotid Stenosis

The purpose of this study is to understand how carotid endarterectomy (CEA) or percutaneous carotid angioplasty and stenting (CAS) affect memory and thinking resulting in improving or worsening of thinking or memory. There have been many studies on this subject, some finding that certain patients gain improvement in their brain function and others might get worse. The goal of this study is to discover which patients are more likely to have improved cognitive functioning. Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) and percutaneous carotid angioplasty and stenting (CAS) are not investigational and are an accepted treatment for your condition. In addition, subjects that choose not to undergo surgery will also be included in this study.

Cardiac Output and Duplex Sonography in Carotid Endarterectomy

Carotid Stenosis

The aim of this study is to investigate the differences between the cardiac output and the cerebral blood-flow between a regional anesthesia (RA) and a general anesthesia (GA) in a randomized, controlled, single center study at the Medical University Innsbruck, Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine.

Sundt™ Carotid Shunt Retrospective Post Market Clinical Follow-up Study (PMCF)

Carotid Artery Stenosis

The primary objective of this study is to retrospectively investigate the safety and efficacy of the Integra Sundt™ carotid shunt during endarterectomy procedures.

New Technologies to Determine Carotid Plaque Vulnerability in Patients With Significant Carotid...

Carotid Artery Plaque

The researchers are trying to determine if the characterization of "vulnerable" carotid artery plaques can be accomplished with ultrasound-based methods that look for vessels in the plaque and measure the plaque stiffness.

Neurological Outcome With Carotid Artery Stenting

Carotid Artery DiseaseCarotid Artery Stenosis2 more

The purpose of this study is to determine how well patients undergoing carotid artery angioplasty and/or stent-supported angioplasty for the treatment of carotid artery stenosis will perform on a battery of tests to assess brain function before and after the procedure. This study will serve as a pilot project: (a) to determine incidence of neurologic/neuropsychometric change in patients undergoing carotid artery angioplasty and/or stent-supported angioplasty, and (b) to ascertain the time it takes for these changes to resolve.

Additional Neurological Symptoms Before Surgery of the Carotid Arteries - A Prospective Study (ANSYSCAP)...

Carotid Stenoses

A single center observational study. Observing the time between cerebrovascular symptoms and Carotid Endarterectomy (CEA) and patient outcome. An intervention at 17 of the 29 study months aimed at reducing the delay and increasing the patient safety. Main outcome is to measure the reduction in recurrent stroke with decreased delay to CEA.
