STOP-AUST: The Spot Sign and Tranexamic Acid On Preventing ICH Growth - AUStralasia Trial

Intracerebral HaemorrhageStroke

The aim of the study is to test if intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH) patients who have contrast extravasation on computed tomography angiography, the "spot sign", have lower rates of haematoma growth when treated with tranexamic acid within 4.5 hours of stroke onset, compared to placebo.

CoHOrt of Cerebral CavernOus maLformATion: multicEnter Prospective Observational Study

Cerebral Cavernous MalformationIntracerebral Hemorrhage

The aim of this prospective study is to reveal the natural history of symptomatic hemorrhage in adult patients with cerebral cavernous malformation with the goal of informing the treatment plan.

Recombinant Factor VIIa in Acute Intracerebral Haemorrhage

Acquired Bleeding DisorderIntracerebral Haemorrhage

This trial is conducted in Asia, Europe, Middle East, North America, Oceania, and South America. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the treatment of Recombinant Factor VIIa (eptacog alfa (activated)) in patients with acute intracerebral bleeding. It is expected that more patients will recover without severe permanent disability after acute treatment with Recombinant Factor VIIa by reducing further intracerebral bleeding.

Effect of Apolipoprotein E on the Prognosis of Patients With Intracerebral Hemorrhage

Intracerebral Hemorrhage

The purpose of this observational study was to compare perihematomal edema and short-term prognosis in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage carrying the APOE-ε3 and APOE-ε4 genes. The main questions it aims to answer are: Exploring whether patients carrying the ApoE-ε4 gene have more perifocal perihematomal edema after intracerebral hemorrhage than patients with the ApoE-ε3 gene. ApoEε4 gene has worse short-term prognosis than ApoEε3 gene in intracerebral hemorrhage patients. All the patients in this study received the same medications based on the guidelines for the management of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage. Some ICH patients were evaluated for Stereotactic minimally invasive surgery (sMIS) treatment by two experienced neurosurgeons.

Trial of Cooling for Patients With Excel Cryo Cooling System in Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ICH)

Intracerebral Hemorrhage

The purpose of this study is to determine if cooling the neck of patients with ICH decreases brain temperature. In addition, the investigators will determine if the device improves the delivery of oxygen to the brain. A third goal is to determine if cooling the neck lowers intracranial pressure (which is often times high in patients after ICH).

GLP-1 CellBeads® for the Treatment of Stroke Patients With Space-occupying Intracerebral Hemorrhage...

Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ICH)

The objective of this study is to assess the safety of GLP-1 CellBeads® in patients with space-occupying intracerebral hemorrhage.

Early Versus Late Intubation Trial in Physician Manned Emergency Medical Services

TraumaCraniocerebral Trauma3 more

This study looks at advanced airway management in critically ill or injured patients treated by physician manned emergency medical services, comparing early (on-scene) intubation to late (emergency department) intubation.

Clevidipine (Cleviprex®) Compared With Urapidil (Ebrantil®)

Nontraumatic Intracerebral HemorrhageMultiple Localized

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is responsible for 10-15% of primary strokes. ICH is a dynamic process with three phases: initial hemorrhage, followed by hematoma expansion and perihematoma edema formation. Hematoma volume is correlated with disease progression and outcome. Contemporary evidence proposes that elevated blood pressure is associated with hematoma expansion while more than 90% of patients with ICH present with acute hypertension. Uncontrolled blood pressure is a leading cause of ICH and it seems also to be a factor of poorer outcomes. Therefore, rapid reduction and control of blood pressure might ease disease progression and improve the outcome. Clevidipine (Cleviprex®), an ultrashort-acting dihydropyridine calcium channel antagonist, with its rapid onset and short duration might be more effective than conventional antihypertensives to achieve rapid blood pressure control in patients with acute ICH.

Indomethacin Germinal Matrix Hemorrhage/Intraventricular Hemorrhage (GMH/IVH) Prevention Trial

Intraventricular Hemorrhage (IVH)Bleeding in the Brain2 more

The purpose of this multicenter trial is to determine if indomethacin prevents bleeding in the brain of very low birth weight preterm infants.

Thyroxine Treatment in Premature Infants With Intraventricular Hemorrhage

Intraventricular Hemorrhage of Prematurity

Brain bleed in premature infants damages the brain and survivors suffer from cerebral palsy (weakness in the extremities), cognitive deficits, and neurobehavioral disorders. In this clinical trial, investigators will test whether thyroxine (hormone from thyroid gland) treatment in premature infants with moderate-to-large brain bleeds show recovery in the brain structure on MRI evaluation at the time of discharge (44+/-1 weeks) and neurodevelopmental improvement at 2 years of age.
